Having spent some time perusing...

I just thought that I must say that this site is the best that we have found.
I've been a 'lurker' (saw someone else use that term) for a while and have made a few posts (well 3 really).. and just love this site. It's obvious that the people in the forums are not only fun, but genuine (well I am sure most are) and use humour as it should be done.
Most of the time posts in here will be from me (Paul) as I have much free time (taking a well earned sabbatical from working and drowning in money - oh please I wish) and on occassion will include my friend Katy (or Katie, Kt).
That's it really - just wanted to officially say hello rather than 'lurk'

Lord knows how I managed that ..... No doubt some kind admin will delete one. If I knew how to ask I would..

.. Well not really. My background is in designing large networks.. Nd my son (14) is much better than me on the PC (is that sad or just realism?)

Neither sad nor surprising, really. Computing is such a massively enormous field that no one can be expected to be an expert in all of it.
I'm a professional programmer, but I'd hardly know where to start if you asked me to write a Windows or Mac application. Networks? My ignorance is spectacular.

I agree. I've been in Networks until the last few years - then Directories.. Very interesting (if one is and IT person - otherwiese they think you are a bore)
And as I would not want to bore anyone on here - maybe we should drop the IT side of this discussion (though not on my behalf)
As and aside - I have been very taken with the people on this site - all seem very friendly and hopefully approachable
