HELP! cant register for the chatroom

morning dirrty!
if you're still awake, come into the chatroom and i'll talk you through it. it's not requiring a registered nick at the moment, i've just checked. so just enter any nick then click connect. no password needed. i'll be there a while yet.
the instructions below use a different command than that listed on the website here, but it works for either java users connecting through the site link, or through mirc. if you miss me then here's what to do, as simply as i can......
make sure that you're currently using the nick you want to register inside the chatroom...
if not to change nick type the following
/nick your_chosen_nick_here
type the following command with your relevant email addy and chosen password. noone will be able to see your details as it's a private notice.
/msg nickserv REGISTER your_email_addy your_chosen_password
you should now have a 9 digit activation code at your specified email addy. copy the number
now enter the following command, pasting in the 9 digits
/msg nickserv ACTIVATE your_code_here
you've now registered your nick. if you are prompted to identify to nickserv after a nick change once you're in the room type
/ns id your_password or your nick will change to guest. all done. ;-)
alternatively, open a browser and follow the following link. it leads to the starchat help channel where the ops will talk you though a registration if the SH room is registered user only when you try next time.
