Just say to yourself that everyone going is in the same boat as you.
Everyone must get nervous about going to munches and parties but isn't it exciting.
Just go and enjoy the experience. You will be so glad that you did. A brilliant way to meet all the lovely people from here.

No no, it doesn't matter if you're teatotal!!! You have to run to the bar and hold on tight to it once you get there. It has special magical powers that gives you confidence after an hour or so ....... tis true I tell ya!!!!
My first munch, I held on to the bar very tightly for an hour or so, just steadily drinking with the other hand ....... and bobs your Uncle, was confident as a really confident thing after a while
Still don't believe me, ask Angel Chat ....... she nearly snapped the bar off she was gripping it so tight :shock: In fact, her fingernails are probably still in there :shock: After a while, she was able to not only let go of the bar with confidence, but also strutted her stuff with a red duck in her clevage ............ right before she used the microphone to blame me for stealing her handbag, if I remember rightly
Which brings me on to another bit of advice ...... whatever you do - do not, I repeat DO NOT agree to look after Angels jacket (or handbag)
So being tea total shouldn't matter :undecided:

Everyone who has ever been to a Munch was once in the same position as yourself. They will understand. The people you meet will be there for the same reason as you - they want to meet people and have a good time. You will be nervous when you walk in, but if you just be yourself and try not to feel you have to make an impression, after two minutes you'll think you've known everyone forever.

The lady speaks the truth apart from me blaming her for stealing my bag, I simply asked if anyone had seen it because I couldn't find it.... and Missy looked all sheepish holding it up saying "yes, I've got it" I checked that my condom stash was still intact (it was :lol2
and then I'm pretty sure I thanked her and apologised profusely for forgetting I'd actually asked her to look after it The "bar" thing does work though. Well it worked for me :cheers:

just a thought tho teppic in that case. if you end up in a jacuzzi at some point, just be careful cos the magic stuff might wash off, and maybe you'll spend the next 6 hours hiding in the corner refusing to get out?

Ummmm yeh. My advice would be, make sure you have a good plan on how to get out of a jacuzzi with v. steep sides, with at least some of your dignity still in tact
Unfortunately I didn't have such a plan, after struggling to get in the damn thing in the first place, it didn't occur to me that getting out was gonna be a whole lot harder
not only half cut and starkers, but also wet n slippery too - tis bluddy impossible ...... hence sitting there for about 6 hours waiting for the place to thin out a bit before I attempted it (in fact I think I was still sat in it when the taxi turned up )Oh and another thing if you're gonna do jacuzzis - they have pauses between bubble time. Just because it decides to have one of these sudden pauses as soon as you get in it, doesn't mean you're too heavy for it and have broken it
And look out for Neil shaped objects!!!!! They tend to sit in places like this, waiting for you to make an arse of yourself, so he can remind you about it forever ............ he thinks it detracts from some of his antics

I am going to the scottish munch on 26th march and i must admit to feeling a little nervous and also a little excited. I will prob feel it more as time draws closer it 8 weeks away yet. I am just glad i am not going alone! Chris has to munches before so he has more experience but say he has never been to one big as this one.
