OK Guys, I am going to regret asking you lot this but here goes.
Charlotte and I have decided we intend to visit a fetish/BDSM club sometime in the next few months to enjoy some of our less mainstream tastes.
However the problem is I have no idea what to wear. Charlotte will be fine as it is a good excuse to buy another revealing outfit in PVC, leather etc. She will also look bloody good and get loads of attention so sorted there. lol
So I want some advice on how to avoid looking a completely naive twat and showing her up completely. redface Preferably from some guys or gals on here with at least a passing familiarity with the scene but I know I am setting myself up for some stick here aswell. :scared:
Here are my personal details for anyone who is actually going to consider this one. - I am 29, 6'3" Tall, weigh about 16 Stone (That means I am a bit overweight but it doesn't show too much under ordinary clothing. surprisedops: ), I have short hair, no tattoos and no piercings.
I don't really need links on where to find the clothing (Although good ones always appreciated  ) just some suggestions on how to look good. BTW as a challenge if someone comes up with something I like and it can be adapted for a more mainstream venue I might wear it to the Notts Munch! :eeek: :eeek: (Did I really say that?)
Right, take it away.......
Roger the (soon to be) Leather Dragon
(edit) P.S. - there is a photo of me on our ad. however it is about 3 months old, very unflattering and I have lost about 2 stone since it was taken.
hi there, I often go to fetish clubs and the guys there wear a mixed variety of clothes, some wear latex, rubber, or fishnet tops with black trousers, others wear shirts with frilled cuffs and the odd one wears a leather thong! It's always best to try and check up and see if a club has a dress code.
Pvc pants and a close fitting top are ok too - leather waistcoats are sometimes worn too
some of the sub guys wear leather or pvc shorts with a harness or collar and cuffs
E-bay is a good place to have a quick look - just type fetish in the search there or there are plenty of sites sellin fetish wear. Give me a shout if u need any help
Hope u have a great night
i get a lot of stuff from ebay ..especially boots
plus i clicked the link on here for shopping
over there somewere
<------------------------------------
.some nice stuff and not to expensive
Well there is the problem, you need to get your hair done... get some tats and have bolts put in your nose and huge streached earing tubes lol
Na, only kidding
Guys can get away with... black trousers, black shirt, black tie, black jacket, black shoes, black socks.... sorted  and if you have a black trench coat even better biggrin
Basically gives you the "dom" look; very simple, very effective, very cheap (for any bloke with a black suit anyways)
I'm off to flesh in derby on sat, but as I like to be different I'm going to wear black rubber shorts with a built in shieth and my "just got fecked by freddy cruger" t-shirt (white shirt with cuts and blood stains) and some plastic tubing (you dont wana know, lol)
Good to hear you want to get into this Roger. Lil_Bunny has given you some good pointers. I dress like a biker in leather jacket and trousers. Leather waistcoats easy to find. A nice shirt made of satin perhaps. A few acessories here and there to top it off. You don't need to have the latest gear from Skin-Two, just stuff off the high street or ebay.

I generally wear black shoes, black leather trousers, black t-shirt and black leather waistcoast (is there a colour theme coming out here I wonder?)
If I want to be particularly dressy I'll wear a white frilly shirt with a velvet type long coat over the top.
As long as you make something of an effort, you shouldn't have any problems at all, but of course you could email the club arrangers and ask for their opinion on what would be acceptable to turn up in.
P.
We have been to Club Wicked and Torture Garden, and some of the costumes are fabulous! The main reason for my posting is just to say that whatever you decide to wear, you will fit in, because the outfits are so varied and individual that no-one looks odd or like a 'twat' as you said!
By the way, a costume I have seen a few tiimes and i think would look really striking, esp with your height, is a gladiator style top, leather vest top with metal plates over the top, worn with similar or plain trousers.
To get some ideas, try looking on fetish clothing websites.
xxx :taz:
Thank you all for your constructive advice, kiss passionkiss  all round. (take what you'd like and pass the others on. wink )
It looks like black could be a prevailing theme, lol
I like the gladiator idea, it just might take a bit of work or money to avoid it looking like a blue-peter reject.
Unless I get any better suggestions I think the black PVC or Leather trousers sound a good start. Probably with a waistcoat - just need to find something individual, preferably with a dragon on the back.
It is nice to know though that were not the only kinky ones on here, just a shame it is going to be at least a couple of months before we can arrange anything sad , never mind it will give me time to find something I like.
Love you all xxxxx
Roger.

You'll find there are a few "kinky" ones in here ;) Ranging from pure amateurs to serious BDSM'ers ... unfortunately (and previously touched upon in another thread) BDSM/Swinging don't necessarily mix. There's a lot of misinformation or bad stereotypes out there who get the wrong impression.
I've often wondered how many are lurking ;)

You're quite right there, sometimes the 2 don't mix
But that's why I prefer to keep the 2 seperate. friends on both scenes know what I am into and don't have an opinion on it, they're all just lovely people
Well, to give you an idea, you could look through the clubbing galleries here ...
Fetish Scene
... of course, if you can't decide which look to go for, you could always go butt naked ... you wouldn't be the first!
cool

True, you get people either side who think the oher side are weird, but I think there's a sizeable overlap of interests.
Only a few snippets to add to Judy's post...
1) Contact the club organisers (web, phone, whatever) and ask what their dresscode is. Don't be afraid to say you are new to the scene, and are on a budget, everyone on the scene has been there once!
You will (in most cases) get some excellent and helpful advice. If you don't get excellent and helpful advice, then simply file that particular club in the 'somewhere to go when we are past the newbie stage' category and look elsewhere.
2) Some of the softer clubs accept a formal dinner jacket & bow tie outfit as 'fetish wear', so you can raid your cupboard or go to Moss Bros for your 1st visit.
3) People's attitiudes to you will vary depending on how dom or sub you dress. If you don't want people to be calling you 'slave' or 'master', take care to dress neutrally (collars usually imply ownership, for example).
4) When you buy clothes, don't buy what the club wants, buy what YOU want. That way you'll get to enjoy wearing it in the bedroom as well as in the club!
5) Chains and dog collars are available in your local pet shop for a fraction of the price of your local fetish outfitters!
