on avatar and in post we're not computer clever

animated avatars are a bit of a pain, cos they have to be below 10k, so usually need shrinking frame by frame with something like microsoft gif animator. to put an image in a post, it needs to be hosted on the net, so if it's on your hard drive, you'll need to upload it first to an image hosting site like or
assuming it's already on the net, you can just hotlink to it. copy the url to the image into your post, and put tags round it like this . . .
