Help with forum rules, please

Newbies to forum need help/advice, we posted our first avatar yesterday, thanks to all you that resonded, we have been into topic today to post a reply, topic is now locked, please can some one tell us if we posted something wrong, if so sorry, but how and why would topic be locked.
One day we shall learn how forum topics work.

Maybe because the thread was going nowhere??? in a conversational aspect that is.

Best you can do, and my advice, is to PM a mod and ask if they can tell you why.
I just looked and can see nothing amiss.

I seem to recall that there was a spate of "look at my new avatar" type threads and it was decided that they added nothing to the forum and therefore wouldn't be left open in future. Everyone sees your avatar when you post anyway so there's not much point in the thread apart from to say "look at me" dunno
