If you have a look in the Help section (in the Information frame to your left) you should find the info you require.

ello tripod ,
open the piccy in Paint m8 ( start , run , accessories , paint)
Click on File and Open , and open up your piccy
Click on Image at the top
Click on stretch/Skew
Reduce horizontal / vertical percentages from 100 % until u have desired size
There are free progs on the net that do this , but i always use paint , but its personal preference really.
Dont forget to save pics as jpg , not .bmp format
Cheers

EDIT: Oops , or do what Alex said ... doh could have saved meself all that typing ..lol. rolleyes
Hi
I find the easiest way is to use the free sizing software JQL has provided.
There is a sticky to it I think, very user friendly. That's as Techie as I can be I'm afraid

Yes Tim I agree, I have used this avatar resizeing program and it is so easy and user friendly even I dont have any trouble with it. I think JQL designed it for blondes wink .

I think JQL's programme only reduces pics to avatar size. If you stick them on a photo-ad it would be like looking at a postage stamp.
You have up to 50kb to play around with on a photo-ad pic so a photo editor is the way to go.

Hi tripod try this its easy and free smile ( biggrin
More tips for you, try this freeware tool, we use it all through the ofice now and although I have a lot more powerful stuff I still use it for quick changes and viewing files.

Resizing is simple enough, open your file in Irfanview, select Image menu then Resize resample. Select your new size, bang it resizes. Now just use file save as and wham nice smaller file.
There is also a batch function (does lots of files one after the other) it a bit fidly but again useful, press B to get to it while viewing a pic. If you get stuck drop me a pm, happy to chat on phone or via MSN to help get you sorted.
