Hello..... wondering if anyone can help me.....
I went to the beach (again) on Sunday to have a mess around with the young'uns - went in the sea, played a few games etc. I made sure I put some good suncream on and kept topping it up but a few hours after I got home my skin started burning..... it's still much the same.
I've put natural yoghurt on it, loads and loads of after sun and moisturiser but nothing is working. My skin is sooo hot and red sad
Couldn't even go to work today as it was so bad - spent the day sat on the sofa reading a book in agony! I can't wear a bra or anything too heavy as it hurts even more....
Anyway, does anyone have any other suggestions I can try to stop the burning/pain?
I know it's really bad for you to get burnt but I did wear sun cream and I never normally burn so I'm not sure why I've burnt so badly. I've also been feeling dizzy and had a headache since.... is this due to the sun too?

confused
Oh you poor thing, it sounds like you have one hell of a case of sunstroke. Try a cool shower for some instant relief, you really do need to cool down.

Lavender gel is a brilliant product, I did a quick search and found some
Sounds as though you may hav at least a touch of sunstroke though. Plenty of water in the meantime but I think a visit to the doctor may be in order.
Hope you feel better soon :therethere: <~~ very gentle hugs so as not to hurt the burnt bits
Yes, you are right Angel, I just looked up sunstroke, it was pretty severe.
DON`T PANIC EVERYONE, THAT`S MY JOB! redface
Sorry Onlyme, I didn`t really want to make you think you are going to die!

Here you go hun
That gives alot of info and advice on more serious cases, but there is some good advice and it does mention that it is rarely serious unless ignored, so it`d be a good idea to follow the advice. Mainly cooling the body down and frequent sips of water, salty to replace minerals, and sweet to replace energy.
You take care of yourself pet (((((hugs)))))

it sounds very much like sunstroke i had that once and it makes you feel so bad
i had to keep showering in tepid water and takeing pain killers and drinking plenty of fluid ...took a few days to recover
after that i never got sun burnt again ..............horrible thing to have
hope you feel better soon if its to bad go the doctor dont suffer in silence
Thank you for the remedy Angel.... Think I might give that a go after I've visited the doc's.
Thank you Venus for the link - I never realised that it could get that bad without treatment! I do have some of the symptoms the list suggests so a visit to the doc's will be booked for tomorrow (hopefully...normally takes 6 weeks to get an appointment!)
Thank you redstilletto for your suggestion too.
Another thing..... when I called work this morning they didn't sound too convinced. I was off work last week on hols and it may look like I'm taking a sickie....I do have a bad history of sick days (all genuine though....and not hypochondria!) so I'm not sure what to say to them..... I'm not going to go in tomorrow as I need to see the doc and like I said earlier...I can't even wear "proper" clothing..... any (more) suggestions?
Thank you for the hugs too!

wink
i got told off for being off work ...they called it self inflicted .......no sympathy and no pay
like the new av .....very good lol
Have to sympathise with you, I got a touch of sunstroke once and it was certainly painful for a day or so, felt sick like a really bad hangover and all I did was to burn my shoulders !
I now avoid the sun and have a marvelous bar tan !
Seriously use lavender and/or alloe vera, wear light (cotton) clothes, drink plenty of water and keep out of the sun, if you feel you should go see the doc !
Keep cool cool

You`d probably need to pick up a sick pay form at some point anyway if you are going to be off for a while. How about you pop in enroute to the Docs, then they will be able to see, how bad it is for themselves. smile
