Something just occured to me whilst posting in another thread.
Quite often threads get hijacked on here - no suprise there.
Personally when a thread of mine gets hijacked it's usually something quite amusing or thought provoking and I just go with the flow. I generally enjoy the little twists, turns and tangents that they take.
However it occured to me that not everyone might see it that way.
Does the original poster get offended by this? dunno
So firstly if I've ever hijacked your thread and it's offended you I apologise worship
Secondly what's your opinion?

for me depends on how serious the thread is....smile
there is a time and a place for hijacking a thread i personally think.....
Hijack a light hearted thread by all means......but with the more serious one i just wish people would have a tiny bit more feeling....

I can remember a time when it was considered a compliment and almost a "sort of" sign of acceptance when someone had a thread first hijacked.
You remember that Sean?
When 90% of the threads were light-hearted and fun ?

I had a thread hijacked ( well sort of), I started it off about pop and it turned into a thread about sweets etc, (Which has been done before) cool but i was quite pleased because it was quite interesting , and its better than being ignored confused wink
I have had some threads i,ve started to fall flat :? so it was nice for a hijack biggrin

Falling down shows a complete lack of effort on the footballers part - if you're gonna go down do it in style - like an oscar winning Klinsman dive lol

absolutly.... which is why i made the distinction between the light hearted ones and the not so........and i have probably done my fair share of hijacking in my time... same as you have dammy......
i have looked back at times and thought "i shouldn't have really done that" at that particular time..... if a topic is stale, or it has run its course... hijack it to death.... but i can see why to very new people it would look like an "in club"........

That's actually what made me start this thread. I felt the need to apologise in my post in case they were offended,
but then I remember the very first thread I started got hijacked and I thought it was hillarious. It did make me feel quite at home and comfortable here so IMHO there's a positive side to it as well.

A quick question in response to the original post from Hornylittleblonde. Where is the distinction between the natural twists and turns of a forum based conversation and "Hijacking" I am actually curious and definitely not having a go in any way ( I am very conscious that emails and forum posts can easily not quite convey what the sender/poster is actually trying to put across.) as from most forums I've ever read this kind of happens naturally as the thread develops, a bit like a spoken conversation I suppose. I do know of one forum which due to the subject matter has a very strict policy that prevents "hijacking " a thread but the topics discussed are of a legal nature and the policy suits that forum and the mods are ruthless in order to avoid sticky situations, even PMs to posters on topics in that forum are banned. But anywhere else I agree with you that a little tact and diplomacy should be used where sensitive/seriousare concerned but for anything else anything goes as it's part of the fun of being part of a community.
Now has anyone seen my Aardvaark?? biggrin

I'd don't think there is a clear distinction tonup - that's just my personal view of "hijacking" when it's done in a light hearted thread.
btw sorry not seen your aardvark lol

OK........... Thanx ........... will go and offer her a slice of toast with peanut butter (Aardvaarks like peanut butter) and tell her she can have Steve for 30 mins :giggle:
I'll let you know if it works

It is a well known fact guys, that Aardvarks DO NOT like Peanut butter.
Accordingly I would suggest the reproduction method to attract Lucy back in.
Ps put me down for one copy of the resultant dvd.
Oops sorry wrong site! redface

I doubt that you have an Aardvark in your garden they struggle with the temperatures that far north. I'm guessing that what your looking at is probably no more than a cat, the two creatures are similar in that they have the same number of legs. The quickest way to tell is to grab hold of the creature and fling it at your front room curtains, if it clings on then in all likelyhood its a cat, if it falls to the floor with a dull thud then theres more chance its an Aardvark as theres never been a recorded case of Aardvarks climbing curtains.
whats this thread about?
Swinging Heaven Logo 0 likes
Good point, the weather is cold! Could be an anteater. In which case it may well eat the Peanut butter sandwich if you leave it out with a small glass of milk and possibly a biscuit with choccie bits. wink
Try and video it and attach it to this thread for a better opinion?

I would advise extreem caution.
If its a cat the size of an aardvark then it's very likely to be a mountain lion and verry dangerous, especially when thrown at curtains.
If it's an aardvark caution is also recomended, why, well coz they're ARRD inem
