As we approach Christmas I know I am going to have to put up with spending time with the relatives, well Ians family anyway rolleyes
I've made it plain on the forums many times that I do not get on with my Mother in Law so I would like some ideas of how I should deal with her.
How can I make the woman like me dunno
I'm being serious, do not hijack my thread :giggle:

Only if I get hubby too
Is it possible to make someone like you? dunno
perhaps it depends on why she doesnt like you in the first place ? but, sometimes arn't Mother in Laws just like that by nature? lol
last minute Xmas holiday deal, not including her?

I get on with my kids' Dads' Mum no problem  She is a lovely woman and we have my children in common-I go and visit her Xmas morning with said ex and the kids lol
My most recent 'mother-in-law' I never met, after 4 years of corrupting her little boy rolleyes and that's how we get on
I realise this isn't much help but it worked for me ;) ( Never see the bitch that is.)

there is a 18 year age gap between me and mrs cream...her sister and her mam took a instant dislike to me because of the age gap between us.....they like me now because i was me...i never changed i just carried on being me if they didn't like me being me.... tough that was there problem...i'm lucky mrs creams mam and her sister accept me...they have seen that mrs cream is happy and in love(her dad died a few years ago incase ppl were wondering what his opinion was).....
all i can suggest is just be yourself hun...don't make yourself out to be something you aren't....if they don't like it then tough....there missing out on the true you... the person ian fell inlove with and married and the grand kids they now cherish......

Maybe the baubles should be gold ones?
Sorry, I cant help either as I dont have a mother in law. Is there anything that you`d both like doing that you could maybe do together? A subject that she likes to talk about that you could maybe have a natter about?

Not sure but Shireen's mother hated me with a passion when Shireen and I got together but since I stood up and was as agressive to her as she was with me she seems to have done a complete U turn and now likes me lots confused
Dose her up on hash cakes, once she's off her tits she'll either fall asleep or get the munchies, at which point you can bribe her to be nice for tasty treats.
A result which ever way you look at it  bolt
I got into trouble with my ex once when my mother in law came around after a row with my father in law. I opened the door and she said "can I stay here for a couple of days" I said sure and shut the door lol

So what you're saying is that I have to set fire to her kitchen :dunno:
I can do that :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
stop trying.
You know that you are loved by your hubby and kids. You don't need her approval.
Her loss.
Be confident about the person that you are... and let her be a snob all by herself. She will regret what she has missed out on.

Maybe so, but the chances of her visiting us is pretty slim.
I got into an arguement once with the old goat. (ok lots of times) we hadn't visited them in a while, and they hadn't come here.
Her answer....
"well its further for us to travel"
Go figure dunno
Ian
I get on with my in-laws better than I do my own parents in some respects. I'm not a 'family' type person I suppose, I will do what's expected of me, we are even cooking Xmas dinner this year.
After all my duties are done I'll be looking forward to being able to turn the phone off, lock the front door and snuggle in bed all day with Mrs Kiss for the remaining days we have free.
