It's cold and rainy and I'm searching the 'net for cheapo holiday opportunities...
This may well have been done before but, where would you go on holiday and with whom?
Me: it'd be a trip to the States, catch up with family on the East Coast then take the Crescent Line train down to New Orleans, taking in the scenery as we go, stay in the Big Easy for a while then back up to NYC for shopping. I'd go on my own or with someone who likes jazz/blues so we could indulge ourselves in N'awlins...

Seattle USA, early 90's, the music scene there would have been just amazing to have witnessed....
Nirvana, alice in chains, soundgarden, mudhoney, pearl jam, screaming trees etc.
I'd take anybody with me who liked that kind of music, or was opening to listening to something different to what they normally would!

Just got rid of a camper van this year. I do miss it. I'd go anywhere there was a coast path to walk. I love scrambling up rugged coast paths and then getting back to the van and drinking gallons of tea, munching tonnes of digestive biscuits whilst reading from a great pile of books I'd taken on holiday with me.
Wonderful stuff!

On March 9th I we (Me, Mrs Bilko and baby Bilkos) are flying to Dubai for a week, then flying to Singapore for two nights. We will then catch a ferry to an island off Indonesia and spend a week there.
We then go back to Singapore and fly to Brisbane in Australia where we intend to spend the rest of our lives.

i'll join you, i could do with getting away right now! sick of things and dark nights. early 90's suits me too as just the time of my life i was enjoying most before settling down. and the music you listed will do very well indeed.

Been loooking on the net this week to try and get something cheap and cheerfull for next year.
Would love to try Australia but think the finanaces might only stretch to Spain but no doubt there will be a lot of folks who won't be going away for one reason or another next year so suppose we will have to be grateful we will at least get away.

It does, first thing I did at Sydney airport was to go to the loo and run water into the basin just so I could see. Also did the same experiment on the plane at 35k and it goes straight down. Plane is not being affected by the rotation of the planet.
Case of bad propeller head day! :silly: :silly:
