How can we encourage people to post?

Word of mouth could be people promoting the site at work, or in the pub or anywhere else they would like to talk about the site. Why would you assume that word of mouth about the site would be in the site chatroom?? ( where everyone in there is a site member???)

I came from chat to the forums and I`ve encouraged loads of people to join in the forums but everybody can see that abuse in chat is generally dealt with quickly .....abusers in the forums are tolerated for much longer and in some cases encouraged rolleyes

This one of the reason I am thinking of quiting the forums..i came from the chat rooms it more of a laugh there so I think I will just sneak off back there.
You can't seem to have a decent conversation in here with some.
I cant be arsed anymore to be honest!

Well Minxy as you are aware I have decided not to post in the forums as I feel that there are just a few arses here.....no names being mentioned.
I am sure there are some that will be jumping with joy, but I really cannot be arsed anymore with all the boring bollocks.
Lets see if the forum goes back to the days ( apparently )when it was such a fun place to be. :shock:
I will still post in the fluffy threads as at least in those you dont get sniped at and slagged off. I am not a silly person and am not backing down from anyone but....there are plenty that do want to post in here, but there are so many that make it a unfriendly place...ask up4 about that one.
So debate the fluffy subjects and I will leave the serious issues that people seem to think not to exist, to somebody else to take the constant flak.

There seems to be an awful lot of the "pot calling the kettle black" here just lately!
The forums aren't the chatrooms and chatrooms aren't the forums. You can't dictate the pace of the forums and all the attempts at posting multiple threads doesn't seem to have worked, so lets try something novel, how about a few good quality fun posts, where opinions aren't necessarily the prime reason for posting.
