A Taxi driver ordered is new London type Cab, and was as proud as punch when it arrived, only for someone from the council, to say iam sorry but you can't use that as a taxi,as wait for it ITS THE WRONG COLOUR BLACK, any other funny ones like this,
Yeah - heres a good one... Our council has posters saying "Working for the good of the community" rotflmao
Come to Edinburgh and you will witness the mother of all shambles with the tram venture!!..(if you do come, leave the car behind and buy some decent walking shoes !)

There`s been a track through a narrow piece of woodland from a housing estate to the main road for years. The council fenced it off while they proceeded to remove trees and put in a some rather expensive looking paving.
It looked nice, so no real complaints there .....until two weeks later they fenced it off again with six foot chain link fencing and put up a sign saying "footpath closed" !!!!
Nutters !!!

Our Local NHS trust spent million quid on reburbing 2 wards of a small community hospital and before the wards were re-opened or had any patients in it ...they closed the hospital.
Same trust payed £80,000 to recarpet the whole 1st floor of a hospital which consisted of guess what ....Geriatric wards. Six months later the carpets are stripped out because the place smelled eye-stingingly of urine Oh surprise!
Sometimes it just makes you wonder don't it.
another calamity up here was the introduction of tolls on the forth road bridge...they restructured it causing massive tail backs not long after they decided to do away with them....more tail backs.....then they decided to build a new bridge...in kincardine! (which has helped i have to admit)
That bridge in kincardine also deprived our doggers of a rather secluded site..unless there are some particularly brazen doggers still using it... sorry off the thread..just thinking out loud!
how many of the above is run by new labour council????
and watch out for that foot path,,,,or they be building on the land it runs on,,,,, if its a foot path from yrs ago get it re-open.
does it matter who is in power their all full of shite
The local town council, has taken 3 car parking spaces and made that area a taxi rank.............a taxi rank round here can ONLY be used by black cabs............and the local town council won't license any of them, they all have to be private hire!!
Now the taxi rank sign has vanished,........

No one runs councils they are a law to themselves, an enigma, nearly organised chaos. Call it what you willbut no one runs them.
biggrin
Council workmen painted a new BUS STOP sign, by obviously a bus stop.
Either they were bad spellers or not quite British, as they spelt it...BUS STOF.
The council after three weeks of arguing, decided to admit it had got it wrong, and would re paint it. At a cost of??

777 If it happened around our way (And it could) it should end up reading BUS MIGHT STOP
Our council has erected a beautiful shiny sign at the municipal tip, asking people to sepErate their rubbish.
My (County) council is very good. When I wanted a new rcycling bin I just rang up and one was dropped off next bin day.
Sadly if you want a large piece of rubbish (sofa) removing, they charge you £14 but they DO take it.
OK, I know you'll all waiting for the sarcy comment - but South Derbyshire County Council are actually pretty good. biggrin
Oh, apart from spelling my village name wrong on a new sign, but it was replaced within 2 weeks.
