How do ''straight'' people feel.....

... about gettting compliments/attention from the same sex?
By that, I mean straight men and/or females with a straight male partner or straight females and/or males with a straight female partner :P
The reason I ask is that myself and my (male) partner were out last night with good friends, a straight m/f couple. The subject came up over dinner after me and her male partner giggled and shared oysters as our respective partners vomitted at the thought of them. He's a pretty cool guy, straight as a die but very comfortable with male attention and she loves the fact that both sexes find him attractive - not in a narcissistic way, more in a 'proud to be with him' way biggrin And I don't mean because he's some drop dead gorgeous hunk - he just has this charisma about him that draws people to him like moths to the flame.
I used to feel a bit funny sometimes when females showed me any attention (this place sorted that out!) :P By that, it didn't offend or repulse me, I just sometimes didn't know how to respond.. dunno
I'm not for a minute suggesting that anyone who feels wierd about it is homophobic and I'm not talking about those that won't take 'no' for an answer. I for one would deck a bloke who repeatedly pushed me something I wasn't interested in doing (if he wasn't sexy with a small cock that is) :rascal:
So how do the straight guys here feel if a bloke comes onto them? How do the straight females feel if a woman comes on them? How do their respective partners feel when it happens? Does it male you feel wierd, flattered, excited lol unsure, nervous etc?
BIoke x
Call me an attention-seeking whore... but I love attention full stop.
wink
I am equally flattered whether it is men or women. I am equally comfortable if I am with someone who is giving other people attention, men or women.
It's all good. cool
Great question.
Though it doesn't happen so much that I get come on'd to confused nowadays since mt mid teens i've always been chuffed with anyone attracted to me sexually or any otherway. Hey how can be being liked by someome else irrespective be bad.
Of course those gay/bi guys who come on to me by immediately trying to divest me of my trolleys and forcing my co*k up their jacksee tend to make me nervous because as we all know that happens just all to often wink lol
I think the company of anyone who is enjoying the company of me enjoying the company of them is a lovely feeling as i hope those feeling the same would think. If you get my drift.
Being straight I sometimes envy the way in which bi guys have no mental limitation on who they fancy. That must be just so cool.

As you wish,
'You are an attention seeking whore'
Do that buy me anything?
Never experienced it to be honest - so I couldn't answer that, I'm sorry. It may be because the radar is off and I'm concentrating all my attention trying to pick up the very infrequent faint signals I get from the opposite sex! confused
Hypothetically, though, I think I would be OK with it as long as it was not a concerted overture to a sexual proposition.
I think the nearest equivalent is that there are some ladies, who have made it quite clear they don't want sex with me - but I still find them attractive and will say so and will treat them as such but on the clear understanding that it goes no further. I am still friends with them so they presumably don't find it objectionable - although I've never thought about it in those terms - got me thinking now!! :?

a concerted overture

:laughabove: I just so love that biggrin
I enjoy giving and receiving attention to/from everyone, male or female! And I often give compliments (not come-ons, just compliments)to complete strangers in the street if it seems right, which sometimes throws people a bit. Trouble is, if I really DO fancy someone I'm completely rubbish at flirting, or accepting compliments, and turn into a gauche fourteen year old.
I am a straight women and speak to quiet a few bi females I don't have a problem at all, a few have said if only you were bi a couple have asked could I be tempted lol
It isn't something I have ever felt the want to explore or the need.
There was a bi female on cam the other day that uses the forums, I had no trouble saying how naturally attractive I thought she was and how lovely her hair looked put up.
I think anyone deserves a compliment even if from a straight person it doesnt make me feel uncomfortable as I feel it is deserved.
I would feel the same if I recieved one from a bi female.
A person is a person at the end of the day.
Great question,
I used to be quite homophobic when I was younger and in all honesty would have punched any bloke in the gob if I had been approached. I suppose with age and my experiences within the swinging community, I have become much more tolerant of other peoples wants and needs. Nowadays I take it as a complement and feel comfortable enough to be able to acknowledge the complement.
Is for how Kez feels about me being approached; I will leave that for her to comment on.
Ste
I think a compliment is a compliment, whether it comes from a male or a female, and whether you or they are straight, bi or gay and I think we should all just be pleased to get them, whoever they are from biggrin
However, I would be more flattered by a compliment from someone of the same sex than from someone of the opposite sex, and Im not sure why confused
I often compliment friends if it is due, male and female ones.
I do however find it hard to take compliments off anyone, male or female (apart from Mike)
Not sure why really, it just makes me feel self consious!
But I always say thanks!!!!

I absolutely hate it! lol

Pants on fire!
I like attention from both sexes and I think MrFB appreciated it and was flattered even though he's straight.
When I was younger, in my teens, I was really embarrassed when a bloke tried to chat me up. Mumbled something and shuffled off. Now I wouldn’t feel embarrassed and would just tell them I was straight. Not that it has happened for around 30 years lol.
I am flattered by any attention, regardless of gender

Maybe because the compliment from the same sex may be more genuine and not just something made up to get into your knickers?
