In your estimation, how popular do you think the swinging scene has become? Has it grown steadily or remained the same over the past few years. To us it seems its becoming increasingly more mainstream as the world and society becomes alot more liberal - dunno if this is the case if this is the case if just an illusion!

I don't think it's got as much to do with being more liberal as being easier. The improvements in communications, road networks etc make things so much easier than it was in the days of small personal ads in magazines that had to be replied to in writing. You then had the problem of actually travelling because even if you were lucky enough to own a car the motorway network wasn't as good...blah blah blah....
yes each generation becomes a little less inhibited and more accepting, but more to the point, opurtunity becomes greater as things get easier.

well theres always been a swinging scene so to speak, but was mainly behind closed doors i think that its just become nore publisised now and more open that we only now know how big a thing it truly is due to the coverage it gets these days.
now dogging on the other hand has grown at an alarming rate in my area and its beyond a joke on times, as people turn up after reading the news of the world or other tabloids and think they are instantly a dogger and expect sex on tap, the scene aint what it used to be, i hope the craze drops off and it goes back to how it always was, a few decent doggers being respectful towards couples, not gangs of doggers intimidating couples and scaring them away

I agree with what has been said above, and one additional element to mention is the tolerance of the police and authorities to swinging clubs here in England. This is a relatively new thing: before the early to mid nineties, clubs which started up were liable to be raided by the police, and ended up being shut down. Most Brits had to go to France, Germany, or Holland for swinging clubs. As has often been mentioned in here, some parts of England seem to be more tolerant than others, the north-west and west midlands seeming to be the most tolerant.

never been to a club so i dont know Personally i think swinging is becoming almost fashonable now days, when we first started there was very few clubs and they was very expencive, now days they seem to be all over the place which has bought the prices down i suppose, and i remember the days when u had to buy a contact mag and send photos by post lol with the use of pcs now days its made it so much easier, i think swinging is getting more and more popular by the day

I think the popularity of swinging is down to the internet. I don't think we would have got into it without it. With the internet we were able to do research about it and check out clubs and contact sites. It was also an e-mail sent to us by a club which made us decide to say sod it and go for it.
I am still a bit disappointed when the media approach the subject as it is usually sensationalist rubbish.
