How strange is that?

Having read a couple of posts recently on non receipt of E-bay purchases - I just HAD to share the fact that I have just received something I bought from America in.............
April 2003!!!
Now the strangest part is that I refused to take delivery last year 'cos customs were trying to charge me £30 for something that cost me USD$5. I "returned to sender" and e-mailed seller to explain why (it was her fauly becuase she didn't put a full stop between $5 00 - so our inteligent customs service thought it was $500) - but it never arrived back with her.
Today it has arrived in a brown envelope, UK stamp (can't read postmark) just addressed to me with my old E-bay name. No letter inside - nothing - just the original outer covering with the customs sticker!
That is strange methinks - but then it IS Tuesday - and Tuesdays are strange days......
I'd have to say that is mega weird, do you still want it or you gonan sell it on??
Also what feedback you gonna leave her biggrin
Well!!
What was the something you bought.

A first day cover is a special envelope with a new set of stamps on it postmarked for the day of their release
ie when the picturesque christmas stamps get released you can pay extra and get them in a commemarative pack on the day of their release its a phillatelic thing
A first day cover is a letter posted on the very first day that a brand new type of stamp (or set of stamps) is issued. The post office sell them, usually with a specially relevant postmark (they do the Christmas ones in the Welsh village of Bethlehem, for example).
ah light on the subject finally!
Now I know, thanx redface
ooooooh i see! no wonder you never wanted to pay the extra 50 quid!
was getting all excited for you thinking u had a new sex toy rolleyes
lol
