Sorry.. bit of a moan.. having a shit day and its only just after 9am!!! It started when I was getting dressed this morning..I just looked in the mirror and saw a mess! I've been driving for 2 weeks now and just piled on the weight. sad I thought to myself.. maybe I should start some extra physical exercise (apart from the usual having sex at least once a day)... but that idea soon went to pot when I started up and down stairs carting washing about... I was absolutely fooked by the end of it.. gasping for air and reaching for my inhaler. I'm 22 and feel like an old woman and its really getting me down today.
I know the best way I'm going to help myself is to give up smoking, but its not even been a week since my last (failed) attempt. Does anyone else just get those 'I'm useless' days?
Course, sitting tapping away at a keyboard 24/7 is not particularly condusive to health, wellbeing and fitness.
lol true vix.. although my fingers are looking particularly slender!!
If you are going to do any form of exercise to keep or get fit, it needs to be something you enjoy. Hands up all those who enjoy carting washing up and down stairs? No? Point proved. So you need to do something you enjoy. If you have the time, go for a walk, get some fresh air. You can afford an hour. You don't even need to walk from home. Drive off somewhere, park up (NOT a dogging car park!) and take off for an hour. Cycling? Swimming? I wouldn't suggest running unless you have a good sports bra kiss . Then you need motivating - you need a reason to go out the door and do the exercise. What do you want? Next dress size down? More energy? Better sex? You need to pick your own motivation and go for it. Other people can encourage and help you, but it is ultimately down to you to get up off of that lovely arse and do something about it. If you need some help (seriously), let me know - I have hidden talents which are nothing to do with what you might be thinking!!

right I have decided... sunday I am going to try to give up smoking again... Theres is no way I'll be able to get fit till I've got my asthma under conrol and have a bit more energy. So any tips/ advice on giving up that I haven't already tried (i.e. cutting down, all forms of NRT, group sessions, one to one, allan carrs book, and plain will power) Then it would be greatly appreciated lol
I gave up smocking for 10 years!..........................and then started again.................now i have been told loads of times by doc to give up!........but its really hard as you get older!
Don't no how i did it in the first place!.....Mr Debs smokes so that doesn't help!...best of luck to you!...i hope you succeed then you can tell me how you did it!
As for excises like Mel said find something you enjoy doing................hourse riding is good and different!

Hi HTH
COLD TURKEY
Thats the way to do it. It's all well and good using all the stuff that's off the shelf.
If you don't really want to give up then you won't. You must totally want to give up deep down inside yourself. Then and only then will you succeed with this regime.
It's no good going at it half harted as you will fail.
You must be single minded about this venture. Do not take it lightly.
Good luck with your plight.

Mal came up with some very good points about doing a form of excercis that you actually enjo, however this can be quite difficult if you consider time constraints and costs of some of the activities proposed to you.
I would suggest having a look at your lifestyle.
You mention that you had been driving for two weeks and had piled on he weight. What had you been doing previously to keep the weight off.
Also please dont make the mistake that millions of people do and become focussed on losing weight. You will never be satisfied. You weight changes through out the ay week and month and will be different at different times of the day. Just focus on the way you feel. If you are happy with the way you feel then stop worrying.
Satin made a good point about kickboxing. This is a fantastic sport to increase you cardiovascular capacity, flexibility, stamina and increase toning.
I recently snapped the tendon in my knee and was out ofaction for 6mths. What a pain in the arse that was. I have balloned in size over those months through over eating and basically getting bladdered all the time.
I started boxing and it is sowly coming off and i am begining to feel great again.
I feel sorry for my clients as when i am fit agian thy will have alot o hard work to do.
