If you won't permit comments passed on your posts, you can't really justify complaining (in your opening post) about other people's posts. Just a thought.
I think its one of those expressions which one uses to emphasise what one has already said. But somewhat unnecessary, as much of what is said in a forum is opinion.
I find its often applied as a challenge ie (is anyone going to disagree with me?) or as a defense mechanism ie ( go easy on me because I am not sure I said that right, orindeed bothered to get the facts right either).

here, there are some fantastic bargains on the high street if you know where to look... did I mention a friend of mine who had been and done some early shopping in preperation for xmas only to discover that prices had since been reduced by as much seventy five percent!!?? how annoyong is that.. still, all the better for the rest of us eh what?

Given that you have posted an opinion on an aspect of the forum you don't like it seems to me to be very pertinent.
It's also becoming apparent that you are a forum neophyte, so in an attempt to help you negotiate this forum I'd point out for future reference that you don't get to choose who responds to posts/threads you make/create.
