I told you what i thought earlier, but you are best to take advice from every corner.
we have been to a lot of house parties over the yrs and this is how we see them. choosing your guests is down to you allways but ask friends that you have invited if they know of other nice people they know would make good house party the food simple like salad, sadwiches etc and put on a few drinks including soft drinks for those that are driving and the non drinkers .people that attend house parties do bring bottles and cans so dont go over the top when buying the drink .set out your play areas. most parties the play is upstairs and at some parties some rooms are out of bounds(childrens bedrooms for instance) so if this is the case let the guests know . keep the music low you dont want to drown out the conversation . some guests maybe a little nervous so u may need to help the person(s) to mingle a bit so they feel more relaxed.
hope that helps you a little but if you need any more help just let me know

If you're going to the NW munch that might be a good place to 'vet' people because you get to meet them face to face so you know they are genuine.
Just a thought!

You could start by inviting a couple of reptiles!!!
Do not expect everyone to turn up.
We have found that ppl are very keen to come to a party until a a day or so before and then they remeMber their great aunts birthday that they just have to attend - or something like that!
The worst one'S are ppl who just dont turn up even when they have confirmed the day before.
We only hold partys for Couples or BiFems and we now insist on girl/girl phone contact for confirmation as it is a slightly better indicator that they will actually turn up.
