HI there to everyone/anyone who may read this......... I've been on this site on and off now for a couple of months, more out of interest than anything else, it's something i would like to get into sometime in the future but for now i am merely carrying out some research! anyway onto my problem.......... Im 23 years old and my girlfriend is 19, we've been together now for about 9months or so. I was a perfect gent when the relationship started, never put pressure on her to sleep with me (even though i was gagging) and after about 3 months we finally slept together and have been doing so semi-regularly since then. this is not my problem though! the problem with her is money..........everytime we go out i have to pay for everything, which i dont mind, but its when we are out and she askes me to buy her something and she always says she'll pay me back. but the problem is she never does, she always has some excuse. her deb to me has now crept over £500 without a penny ever having been paid back! whenever i bring it up she goes off in a bad mood and says that i shouldn't hassle her about it! what can i do though? things took a turn for the worse over christmas as well, she lives about 30 miles away from me and always expectes me to go and get her! she refuses to take the bus so we can meet half way or anything, so im doing a rediculous amount of miles taxing her around as well! and then when i go up there she never even seems happy to see me and ignores me in favour of her mates, which i think is a bit out of order? well anyway she has recently developed a real attitude towards me and our relationship, accusing me of starting arguements over the slightest of things like me sending her a text asking waht shes up to or something silly like that. im at my wits end just wondering if anyone has any advice of how to deal with an immature/irrisponsible girl, who thinks she is an independant woman? im thinking of finishing it as im not having any fun now and don't know where the relationship is going! but don't really know how to finish with her! im not too fussy bout the money, if i finish it i dont care about it, but if i stay with her i want it back out of principle! anyway, sorry for my rant! but id like some opinions if possible, maybe a bit wordy i know but it feels good to get it of my chest anyway. cheers Ewen
Hi Ewen It sounds like you wont have too much difficulty finishing with this girl. If you stop calling her, she sounds like she's the type not to make the effort to get in touch with you. The 30 mile gap between you means you're not going to bump into her down the shops either. I was in a similar situation a few years ago, paying for nights out / holidays / doing all the running around. I didnt mind this, but when she started saying that I didnt do enough for her, it was too much. If I were you I'd forget about the cash and just move on. I'm sure you'll find someone you're happier with. Good luck

Ahh This is what I like best about this site - lots of genuine, caring advice What else can I add - nothing really except I think lots of us have been there and it does sometimes take time to sink in before you realise you are being taken for a mug. cut your losses mate - I'd try saying to her one more time about the money she 'promised' to pay you back and if she tries to stall, just say to her "get in touch with me and let me know when you're ready to pay some back" and hang up. that way it's up to her to get in touch with you - but I doubt she will. Tough break mate - hope the next one is better.
