YOURE ALL GREAT AS YOU ARE SOMEONE LOVES YOU,WE ALL LOVE YOU.. YOU CAN NEVER BEAT BEING YOURSELF AND BEING HEALTHY AND HAPPY. LOVE TO YA,MARK.X.
BE YOURSELF ,YOU CANT BE ANYONE ELSE. LOVE AND PEACE.
I like Alex's idea best, perhaps after the 5some you are just to knackered to even open a bag of crisps and so loose even more! I would ask if they need anyone to research this idea? Sounds good enough to me with some of the things they have paid to be studied in the past?
Diets do work - if you consider working to be losing weight. Diets are NOT healthy - they are not good for you. They screw up your metabolism so if you so much as dare to skip the diet for even the shortest time, you put back on twice the weight you would've lost during that time.
I found WeightWatchers relatively easy 'cos you can eat what you want as long as you stick to your allocated points. This means that you can eat LOADS of healthy stuff or, if you really want to, use a whole days' allowance on vodka. Then there's the bonus point system whereby you can earn yourself some points by doing exercise. So, by running from one pub to the next instead of walking and maybe having a quick shag in the bushes along the way, you can earn 2 more vodkas!
The green day/red day crap is SlimmingWorld isn't it? Hmmmmm again, not convinced that restricting yourself to certain combinations of food on certain days is particularly good for you. Have heard lots of bad things about this, similar to Atkins - constipation, stomach cramps, indigestion, bloatedness, headaches etc. Hardly sounds good for you does it? Maybe back in the days when we were hunter-gatherers and relied on the greenstuff till the men came back from their male-bonding/farting round the campfire thing, then yes, green day/red day would've been fine. However, we've evolved from that. I don't believe our digestive system is designed to cope well with that kind of diet in the long-term.
BTW I don't know if it makes any of you feel any better, but I put on 3 stone when I was pregnant. My daughter is nearly 6 and I now weigh more than when I was full-term pregnant. I want to lose it, but obviously not enough or I would've. I LOVE food!
I went to the doctors and got a diet sheet of things you should eat and things you shouldnt, that simple, its common sense more than anything!!
I lost 6 stone and a pound at last count,so it does work, youve just got to be sensible about it!!
i've got to agree with AC on this one (as AC said I don't want to get into an argument either, so I'm just offering my experiences).
I've been eating the same foods as Countess over the last few months and the choices are far healthier than what we had been eating previously. We'd mostly have a meat and chips or something else deep-fried, but the foods we're eating now are far better. we still eat meat, but with salad or pasta. It's great and it doesn't take any longer than the foods I was cooking previously. It's mixing your foods, but in measured quantities.
It's all about changing your habits more than dieting and once they've changed you just go for the healthier stuff out of habit. You are still allowed a number of "sins" per day, but they encourage you to stickk to about 10-12 per day (individual foods have a certain number of sins). Booze is allowed as well, but at the given sin rate (I know as Countess has got a directory of sins that lists the sin value for the majority of foods).
I'm not a fan of the Atkins diet for the reasons that Marya has given. The diet cannot be considered as balanced by anyone and I'd probably only follow it under advisement, but it works for some people.
As mentioned before the best way to loose weight is to do more (exercise) and eat less (fatty foods especially). That way the body burns the fuel rather than storing it.
Another thing I've discovered is what time you eat can play an important part of the diet. For example eating a large meal at night isn't a good idea as your body doesn't need the energy for sleep, so it stores it as fat. It's far better to eat a large, healthy breakfast or have a decent lunch and just have a light snack for dinner.
My dieting tip: don't put your computer next to your kitchen!
I would love to lose a stone, as now the sumer hols are over the clothes are starting to feel tighter. but such a fussy eater eater in the first place hard to change diet, just need to exercise.
F
Two years ago I lost five stones which was about one third of my body weight and since then I havent put it back on
How? having been overweight all of my adult life .I just decided to do it and followed the weight watchers no secret, its purely determination
Do I feeel better?
Its like night and day, I am so much fitter and healthier
BTW its now two years since I ate chocolate and boy do I miss it
This is the point at which I am going to contradict myself entirely!
I lost a stone on WW last year as part of a pilot scheme run by my health centre. Basically, myself and 9 others got 12 weeks' free subscription to WW. I had to beg to get on the course 'cos apparently I wasn't overweight enough. What swayed it for them in the end was that I had spent 3 months on their smoking cessation thingummy and had piled weight on due to that.
I've put the stone back on and started smoking again. I have NO willpower!!! But silver lining and all that - get to eat what I want, when I want and haven't put any more weight on.
Hi there, just do it at your desk,
there are loads of things you can do while still working on a PC
Steveg...Last November I weighed in at a gargantuan 17.5 stone and 5'7 tall ( a rite fat Fcuker)...... Now I weigh 10.9 stone and still the same height......waist went from 46" to 30"........ Dead simple to loose weight..... try and cut out as many carbs as you can..... if it comes in a packet then don't eat it...... try and get into cooking yer own food...only use fresh ingrediants, meat, veggies, etc...sound boring but wow there are some good recipes out there...if not make yer own up it is much more fun...... Oh by the way my inspiration came from spliiting with mi missus and looking in a mirror....how is a tricki girl going to fancy a fat bugger like me..... the final tip when yer feel full...STOP eating........ don't beat yerself up matey it is just a change of regeime, nothing else..... trust yourself matey and it will work.... the only problem is it will cost you a fortune in new toggs....worth every penny though
STAY STRONG......
Steve - dont even bother with the scales if you dont want to - just get a pair of trousers that are a bit tight (you must have loads!!!! lol) and you can measure your progress that way - gives you more incentive when you see clothes fitting you better  How much you gonna lose before London Munch then???
Yer damn rite Fembernie....I weighed myself once last Nov and only again in August.... it's how ya feel, cus if ya feel alright then ya will look alright.....
