decided to start something today and have realised it's not what I eat it's the fact that I don't eat till tea time that isn't helping me at all.
I eat pretty healthy foods and don't binge or drink much alcohol really
Tried the extra exercise thing too and ended up more muscular, and heavier!
Stuck for ideas, have tried the slimmin world plan but found that there was no way I could eat the amount suggested for one day in one day!!!
GRRRRRRRR help
Lil....just keep going babe.....eat regularly.... abit at a time....nowt wrong with eatin at nite just don't eat shite.......stop when ya feel full.......
Maybe I just need more sexercise or a vibe that runs away from me lol

How much you gonna lose before London Munch then???

That's only a week on Saturday!! I need a bit of help with the sexercise part. How much can we fit in on the Friday night before the munch?
Steve
Looks like I've picked up on this one a little late. smile
It definitely is a case of (perhaps) eating less, and eating the right kind of things. You don't have to abstain from sweet yummy goodies completely, just know when to stop. Personally I think half the battle is will power - if you've made the decision to get on and do it, then you're already in the right frame of mind.
I need to lose around a stone myself, and have finally managed to persuade myself to stop eating all those "nuke em" meals in boxes, and try a little culinary adventure... :)
I bought a shiny new push bike too, which thus far has only seen one trip around the outside world... well - the weather has been crap.... :uhoh:

I'm a bit lost with this one.... Slimming World don't suggest certain amounts of food apart from the A and B choices dunno
The free foods are there so that you can eat as much as you need to eat to feel full, so if you already feel full you don't need to eat any
HTH

That's 6 months away.........I aint staying on a diet that long!!
Steve
Steveg - you dont get it do you!!!!! You are not going on a diet but changing your ways of eating - FOREVER - its the only way. Trust me kiss
I've lost 2 stone of fat in the last 4 months, and put on over 1/2 stone of muscle - here's what's worked for me:

Exercise is vital - I don't know a single person who's successfully lost and kept weight off without incorporating some into their lifestyle
Focus on excercises that build muscle, rather than just lose fat (i've got very into weight training, but I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea) - more muscle = more calories that you burn at rest. There's no need to go silly like one of those freaky mr univere types - just a little will do.
Avoid fad or clever diets like the plague. One of the biggest problems with food today is that people make it so complicated - it really shouldn't be.
Weight watchers + slimming world seem ok though - my mum's lost 4 st on s.w.
Don't look at what you're doing as a "diet" or just to lose some weight for a certain thing. There's about as much point in that as giving up smoking for a month. You'll dislike doing it, and and be annoyed with yourself at the end when you undo all the gains. For it to be worth doing, it has to be a change of lifestyle. Which is why you need to avoid fad diets as they aren't sustainable.
Cheat! How often you can do this depends on your body, i get away with several times a week at the moment, but one day a week is what most people recommend. Just eat something you shouldn't and enjoy it! Never feel guilty about eating!
Listen to your body - if you're following a certain eating plan and feeling crappy, change the plan. It doesn't suit you. Learn what you can and can't get away with food wise - don't stress if you are losing weight and suddenly put a bit back on, just try to suss out what you've done differently.
The eating regime I follow is:
No processed foods, only "proper food"
Wholegrains only - brown bread, brown rice etc
I avoid white potatoes too, eat sweet potatoes instead
Get lots of fibre - oats are great for this
Lots of meat, fish, poultry etc, love it
Eat even more fruit and veg - get at least your 5 portions, pref more each day
Try to eat 6-7 smaller meals each day, rather than 3 big ones.

There. If there's anything else I can think of, I'll post it...

I've always had a thing about being to skinny and would love to have an extra couple of stone in weight all over.

I can press a few stone over you, mate.
Oh and an extra couple of inches on the lenght of me willy would be cool as well lol

How about having 5'2" attached to it, now and then?
Now there is an offer I most definatly can not turn down biggrin
lol
Well I'm posting this to see how steveg is getting on. (Such an unconvincing liar I know)
Actually am posting to say I have lost my first stone :bounce: - only 4 more to go  to get to some sort of normal weight
Have to say I find it a total nightmare - both the eating less and the exercising more are a total pain - I hope that I am able to stick to it though.
Way to go celtic hun kiss

I've lost 9lb up to now and hopin to have lost a fair bit more by the time of the Notts munch. Am gonna have a gorgeous slinky Xmas dress biggrin
So how ARE you gettin on Steve?
I've lost a stone in the space of about a month. And before you all shout etc I have been eating (I've had a lot of stick about losing lots of weight in one month).
I used to eat nothing for days and then get so hungry I'd eat loads to compensate. Now I'm eating more regular and having more exercise (that'll be with help from my new bloke!).
I haven't cut out chocolate etc fully as I know I'll crave for it so I allow myself something if and when I want it. I do find now that I don't want it as often as I did.
I don't believe in dieting really, I've been on so many diets that have worked for a short period but all the weight has gone bac on again.
Just eat healthy, get some exercise and don't cut out everything that's bad or you'll crave for it.
I know everyone is different so all I'm saying is the above works for me!

biggrin
