decided to start something today and have realised it's not what I eat it's the fact that I don't eat till tea time that isn't helping me at all.
I eat pretty healthy foods and don't binge or drink much alcohol really
Tried the extra exercise thing too and ended up more muscular, and heavier!
Stuck for ideas, have tried the slimmin world plan but found that there was no way I could eat the amount suggested for one day in one day!!!
GRRRRRRRR help
Lil....just keep going babe.....eat regularly.... abit at a time....nowt wrong with eatin at nite just don't eat shite.......stop when ya feel full.......
Maybe I just need more sexercise or a vibe that runs away from me lol
I've lost 2 stone of fat in the last 4 months, and put on over 1/2 stone of muscle - here's what's worked for me:
Exercise is vital - I don't know a single person who's successfully lost and kept weight off without incorporating some into their lifestyle
Focus on excercises that build muscle, rather than just lose fat (i've got very into weight training, but I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea) - more muscle = more calories that you burn at rest. There's no need to go silly like one of those freaky mr univere types - just a little will do.
Avoid fad or clever diets like the plague. One of the biggest problems with food today is that people make it so complicated - it really shouldn't be.
Weight watchers + slimming world seem ok though - my mum's lost 4 st on s.w.
Don't look at what you're doing as a "diet" or just to lose some weight for a certain thing. There's about as much point in that as giving up smoking for a month. You'll dislike doing it, and and be annoyed with yourself at the end when you undo all the gains. For it to be worth doing, it has to be a change of lifestyle. Which is why you need to avoid fad diets as they aren't sustainable.
Cheat! How often you can do this depends on your body, i get away with several times a week at the moment, but one day a week is what most people recommend. Just eat something you shouldn't and enjoy it! Never feel guilty about eating!
Listen to your body - if you're following a certain eating plan and feeling crappy, change the plan. It doesn't suit you. Learn what you can and can't get away with food wise - don't stress if you are losing weight and suddenly put a bit back on, just try to suss out what you've done differently.
The eating regime I follow is:
No processed foods, only "proper food"
Wholegrains only - brown bread, brown rice etc
I avoid white potatoes too, eat sweet potatoes instead
Get lots of fibre - oats are great for this
Lots of meat, fish, poultry etc, love it
Eat even more fruit and veg - get at least your 5 portions, pref more each day
Try to eat 6-7 smaller meals each day, rather than 3 big ones.
There. If there's anything else I can think of, I'll post it...
CM
Well I'm posting this to see how steveg is getting on. (Such an unconvincing liar I know)
Actually am posting to say I have lost my first stone :bounce: - only 4 more to go  to get to some sort of normal weight
Have to say I find it a total nightmare - both the eating less and the exercising more are a total pain - I hope that I am able to stick to it though.
