I think I see what's different ...

I have posted on other message boards, but I have felt that there is something different about this one, and it's taken me a month to suss out what it is!
I think it is that here lots of the peeps posting are couples, and you can't tell which of the couple you are talking to. I am beginning to realise that it is often just one half of the couple who posts, and after a while you begin to get the hang of which one it is, but is that always the case? I don't think so.
And names aren't helpful either! How should I have guessed that Mr Powers was a couple, or Frecklebird, or Dave Notts ? It's tricky for a newcomer.
It's not a problem; it's just different! And takes a little getting used to smile

I disagree, there are quite a few singles who post.
As for the couple profiles, it's one half of the 'couple' that generally posts, I can't speak for everyone but I'm Mrs and I do the posting, Jay simply couldn't be bothered (it takes him ages to type anyway), he leaves the gassing to me.

I find it easier to click the profile button and see if it is a cpl...
You can sometimes get the gist of who is posting by the way it is written but not always....
It ads to the mystery and.....
Does it matter if its a male or female who is posting dunno

Its what is written that is important is it not :dunno: (unless your flirting) :rascal:

I find that too when couples post but some don't say who it is that's posting.
I also find it confusing/irritating when you read posts by 'sexyemma2969' (for example) and find out later it's a man or a couple where only the male posts.
Perhaps it's not so much confusing as missleading! lol

i usually write in the forum(mr cream) if miss cream replies/writes she'll put miss cream at the bottam of her quote/paragraph...hope that helps

i have to say i did find this at first myself, did not know for ages it was mr flower411 that posts, do tend to look for signatures now as some say who wrote it.
and did not start to flirt outragously with jaymar till i knew it was just her that posted, actually no it was a certain I.O.U. that sealed it for me.

I must admit that I have had a little difficulty in the past, but eventually worked it out. I'm a single bloke, but because I'm in two minds about everything, do I really count as a couple (of pillocks....)? dunno

We're a couple and we have two IDs, but Mrs_cu3b4ll doesn't post..... she tends to just look over my shoulder when she hears me chuckle (or gasp) ;-)
I post as myself most times, but if I make a comment using 'we' that usually indicates that we've discussed the post and I'm referring to our joint thoughts/experiences.
I know what you mean though. On a number of occassions I've presumed I knew which half of a couple was posting only to be proved wrong later on.

When the nic denotes a couple, it does help when the person signs their post, so you know which sex the poster is. Most times, when both partners of the couple begin to post, the second partner usually sets up their own separate account - which makes things far less confusing! biggrin

Me too, I usually sign my posts with an m- den doesn't bother unless I remind him, we both do a fair amount of posting each, but usually in very different posts and very different styles, and i flirt with anyone anyway so i don't worry which half of the couple it is, although den might!!
