I understand completly what is going on here but....it takes an adult to walk away and that is exactly what I am going to do. So I will not take the obvious bait,and as I said yesterday I will not get involved in petty childs play.
IF people want me to refrain from posting in the forums then I will, but I think a lot of people enjoy what I write.
I will not get dragged down a road, I will walk it of my own free will if that is the way I want to go.
So being an adult I will walk away from this post,and whilst I will continue to post I will ignore the element that is there for one purpose only, and that is to cause as much trouble as possible.

i dont need to say names or take sides.
ive been here a fair few years and i smell the fear people have about posting in some threads due to the personal abuse or blatent disagrement just because that poster does not for what ever reason like the person whos posted.
its a shame some people feel the need to pick on some peoples posts, because its not just the person you think is a twat who you bully away from posting, but the people on the side lines who fear the same attacks dare they disagree with you,or one of your mates.
actually feckit, i might not always agree with kent, but i do not see him to be the bully or "playing" the victim.
i have in the past felt picked on by a member here, and i try to avoid him and the threads he posts in.
i just wish people would debate the point and not make personal attacks.

I feel I have never abused anyone in the forums on a personal assult. but I have felt the victim of some here, I name no names but I just raise above it and carry on regardless.
I just post what I want to say, and very rarely now will I come back in response to people that have responded in my threads.
I just enjoy trying to cause a likely debate as more seems to get reslolved in talking that sitting being quiet in the corner.
I always say in life to, through our hardest times we learn the most too.
So hopefully something new will come out of this, thats if we can all be adult and just respect each other for being different.

That didn't come across right...you assume i don't like Kent...you assume i go out of my way to snipe at him at every possible moment..and that's why i know your wrong when you say you are right...i don't go to work,counting the hours before i get home so i can come on here to single Kent out...Kent picks controversial threads for obvious reasons...to get a rise out of certain people...wether he does this unintentionally or not,only he knows that...by being a high profile forumite with a tendancy to be controversial,he is liable to rub someone up the wrong way...his thread about the "same sex parents" is a good example...i don't have a personal vendetta against Kent,but you think i do...and thats why i know your wrong...

I think the conclusion that may/may not be reached is that debating a point is one thing, when it becomes Ad Hominem it's another.
For example, take the "relationship" twixt myself and Kent. I frequently disagree with his standpoints on many issues. Most of the time I ignore it. I have been known, on several occasions, to agree with him- and I've done so publicly.
When I do enter into a debate with him, he'll ignore a lot of what I write as it suits. Either that, or he'll be condascending. Once upon a time, this frustrated me. It was the internet equivalent of being patted on the head & told to run along. Now I believe his tendency to use sweeping statements as an attempt to bolster a flagging argument- and I couldn't care less. I'll continue to debate the point, irrespective of whichever disparaging insult he's throwing around.
Even when he's right, his bombastic, condascending manner can make you want to do something which would breach the AUP...
BUT...I don't think he's a bully. Not if you use the dictionary definition of "the act of intimidating a weaker person to make them do something"- as I believe that the people he usually gets into a ruck with are easily his intellectual equals.
I do see lots of attempts at browbeating- and although he's not the only one, Kent is one of the worst for carefully baiting someone whilst skirting the AUP (Dry Roasted, anyone?
