I have been posting a fair bit lately, as I was getting pissed of at all the 'lovey dovey' mutual loved up society posts.
Some people may have been upset by some of my post's - apparently. However, I have received many many PM's in support of what I have said from people who cant quite say it as bluntly as me, or wish they could post, but are afraid of being flamed.
On the other hand I have received only 1 (Yes one) "anti Jon's post's" PM :-
*** post edited in deference to another forum members sensitivity - quote removed ***
So am I the first person ever to express my views or hijack a post then - no, am I fuck, and I am certain I wont be the last either.
I am as open here as I am in real life - I am one of thse rare people who tell it like it is, I do not go along with things "for the quiet life" and am most definately not a yes man. It rubs people up in real life too because people like to hear what *they* want to hear.
If you dont like what I post, ignore my posts, bloody simple isn't it - it's like moaning about summat on the telly whem you have the remote in your hand ffs!
If we all sang from the same hymn sheet, this place/life would soon become fucking boring wouldn't it.
I post within the site AUP, and do not look to bend it - I have said in another post, I say what I mean and mean what I say. If you dont like the keyboard me, tough, am I worried - am I fuck.
I also said in another post I do not have to keep score of my friends - the friends I have are all friends for life. Sure, I've had rows with them, some we've even kicked the shit out of each other, and end up the night buying drinks - so what.
People who share the same ideas in life are rare, thats what makes society a diverse and interesting place.
Hows that for a rant?
ps. - I do not want love/hugs/kisses or whatever. I am not seeking being 'all loved up' - thank you.
Oh, and I most definately aint flouncing - if that saddens you - tough as well ;)

:P I don't know. Lately I can understand the mass exodus from SH. The SH addiction is losing it's grasp on me pretty fast too.
That saying 'first do no harm' does not only apply to doctors.
But you post away, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noted you down as someone to avoid.
So am I the first person ever to express my views or hijack a post then - no, am I fuck, and I am certain I wont be the last either.

And I`m sure you are not the first of those people to receive such a PM, (which I`m sure you preferred rather than have the sentiment `emoted` all over the forum............)
That said, YOU are the one who is responsible for how others perceive you when you establish yourself here, and since you are completely comfortable with your persona, I guess you will be taking such PM`s with a pinch of salt in future.
Just an observation smile

1/10 - purely because I am not entirely sure exactly what you are saying.
You say these four things, which I chose because in the order they are put, they sum up how I interpret what you are saying.
If we all sang from the same hymn sheet, this place/life would soon become fucking boring wouldn't it.
I have been posting a fair bit lately, as I was getting pissed of at all the 'lovey dovey' mutual loved up society posts.
I am one of those rare people who tell it like it is,
If you dont like what I post, ignore my posts,

Using your own post as an example, if you were reading this post, and did not like it, would you:
A) Ignore it,
B) Tell it like it is?
And for all those currently reading your post, if they do not like it, do you want them to
A) Ignore it, or
B) Tell it like it is?
lhk
Say what the fook you like for me, Jon.
I said it before and I'll say it again - I'm certainly not walking on eggshells for anyone. I'm not going to go out of my way to piss people off - I never have done, but if what i say rubs someone up the wrong way then maybe they should avoid all my posts?
I haven't broken any rules and I don't intend to. I'm all for freedom if speech and the fact that anyone posting commments on a public Forum are putting themselves in a position to be criticised, like it or not.
As said before, it's just a bluddy website and if it's that upsetting to people, then maybe they need to re-evaluate their priorities in life, get some perspective?
Right, unless I think of something intellectuall while I'm in my next lecture, I reckon that'll be it for now.
I didn't send you a luvvy duvvy PM, Jon, cos I don't love you. Sorry. think you're funny as and I took pleasure in reading all your posts but I don't think you need a pat on the back from me, do you?

Psssssst.......... roger - its a rifle not a gun - A Heckler und Koch G3:-
The G3 (G3A3) series assault rifle is manufactured by Heckler and Koch. It fires the NATO cartridge and uses a standard 20-round magazine. It is used extensively by special forces and anti-terrorist units.
The G3A3 is known for its high level of accuracy and power, especially since assault rifles are a compromise between the two, sacrificing one for the other.
Technical Details
Caliber: x 51 mm NATO
Function: roller-delayed blowback, select-fire rifle (semi-automatic, full-auto fire)
Weight: 4.4 kg (empty)
Length: 1026 mm
Barrel: 450 mm
Muzzle velocity: 790 m/s
Sights: diopter sights
Maximum effective range: 400 m
Magazine capacity: 20/30/50 rounds
Manufacturer: Heckler and Koch; Germany
This should not be confused with the similar MP5 (which uses 9mm Ammo), which is essentially a scaled down derivative of HK's G3 assault rifle and is currently in use by law enforcement units in more than fifty nations.
Most UK Police forces though use the HK G36. This weapon is used by many forces as an intermediate weapon to fill the gap between the HK MP5 (9mm) which is effective up to about 100m max (realistically 50m) and the G3 assault rifle.
This is used because of penetration issuses - (The bullet, not yer willy ;) ) as the round used is the .223 soft point. Full bore rounds have the nasty habit of passing through a target (person) and are therefore not likely to be used by police forces where innocent by-standers could be injured.
At distances of 20-50m the .223 soft point has less risk of over penetration than the 9mm, thereby reducing the risk of rounds passing through a 'target' and hitting others.
Another major point to consider is that most police HK's are single shot only, not having the automatic function.

Hope this makes things a bit clearer and you can sleep easier! ;)

G3A3 with shortened barrel, 30 round magazine and retractable buttstock, special forces version - used for assaulting buildings and aircraft.
The picture is actually a US Marine Gunnery Sgt. - a member of a SEAL team attached to the 5th fleet marine force USMC.
Yawn away Sgt. Bilko

Hi Chris,
According to the PMs I am getting the term "Not alone" is an understatement :P .

Have you got one of those special accounts that has 10 times the mailbox storage of a standard user? lol

Funnily enough my inbox is saying the exact same thing confused
i agree with jon tj , if you dont like or agree with someones post you have the choice to ignore it , rather than put your disaproving point across which seems to be the in thing
at the moment , alot of people should really chill out a bit rather than the sarcy off topic usual drivel of a reply , so if you dont like the post dont reply to it its tough, as all our oponions are different im afraid and far too many people here think there something special and take themselves far too seriously .
this is supposed to be fun.......................

Well, to be honest, some of these discussions have been quite interesting when they haven`t become too aggressive. The aggression tends to crop up and destroy any rational adult contributions. Some of us try to add humour to diffuse it, some of us try to avoid the thread altogether, and some of us would like to see some of the more restrained discussions continued, but feel safer if we just run for the hills!
So, in my most restrained and rational manner, for I am genuinely perplexed. I`ll ask the following.
If someone posts a fairly aggressive criticism of a thread/post, and as a result receives a fairly aggressive criticism back. How is it an acceptable working argument that the person reacting to the original criticism should just avoid the post?! Especially if this is coming from the poster of the original criticism of a post they didn`t like?! How does this work exactly, and how could I have worded that better?! lol blink
