Is it just me or are other SH users getting a bit annoyed with people using the same old 'Really like your profile, why don't you drop by and have a look at mine, and let me know what you think.' line (the only line by the way)in e-mails? FFS, how about using some imagination? mad

Maybe this should really have been in the "steam room" this kind of thread is now becoming a weekly event
You are actually receiving a wink not an email but you can alter your wink preferences hun ie., to not get any at all lol

Yep it is a standard auto response to a wink you are getting.
Like Mar has said you can adjust the setting if you want.

I replied to an ad yesterday as I have done many times in the past. Up until this morning I have never received a single mail back (usual reasons I guess, too many mails to reply to each one etc) which I understood to be the norm so was never too worried about it.
This mornings reply was a really nicely worded "thanks but no thanks".
First reply, and a nice one at that! biggrin

No steam required here.

This is just a standard wink which is sent by people as a way of making first contact and showing interest.
I don't mind them and have started to recieve them. However when I have responded to them I've had no response.

I also don`t mind getting a wink or two :rascal: but I hate it when I get a wink, look at the profile and there is nothing to see, no text, no picture no nothing.

I've made this point in another thread. How are you meant to make any kind of judgement with an empty profile?
Whether you want to make friends are take it further, what is there to go on? Short of just contacting the person/people on the off chance then having to ask all the basic questions, which should be in the profile, how is that helpful?

It just further shows how lazy some people can be, they cant be bothered to set up a proper profile and only want to send a message which they dont have to bother to type!
People who send me winks go straight on my ignore list cos if they cant be bothered then neither can I.

Sometimes I think its free members just trying to attraction peeps attention and they cant reply!
Or even letting you know that they like your profile. If they use the *wink* system on another well known site its just saying, I like it/you etc!
Other times its just a strange woman having a giggle and who shouldnt be allowed a wink redface
