I think that ^^^^^^^^ might just be the point some of us were trying to make!

Had my say on this already, its pretty simple really if a single fem was verified as being a single fem, then it would make it harder for a male prentending to be one, certainly not 100% foolproof but a lot more foolproof than selecting a dropdown box to select your sex when signing up.

I still don't get it. I must be really thick or something on this point.
A single fem is verified as a single fem (I understand this bit) then this makes it harder for a male pretending to be one (Thats where I get lost)
The man can still double profile and verify himself, get a mate to do it or badger people untill someone does it to stop him complaining. How does it stop it?
Dave_Notts
Dave, i'm not sure where your getting lost, the system we were talking about, and thats all it was just talking, is a system that people are verified by site admin, hence the reason it would make it harder to pretend to be something other than yourself.
thats our idea of verification, all the rest is just feedback systems and in our opinion is open to abuse and not very discreet either.
Knew I was getting lost somewhere. I thought you meant being verified by other users

taken from else where on photo verification....
""""For single females and couples it is a great way proving you are a genuine female, or a couple, and it makes the site better for everyone who is genuine and harder for fakers and idiots pretending to be something they're not. For single guys it proves your pics are genuine and it helps you stand out from the crowd. Verification photos are 100% private and only seen by the site owners or trusted admin.
It's quick and easy to get photo-verified:
1. Hand write the sitename xxxxxxxxx and your username clearly on a piece of paper
a photograph of yourselves holding the piece of paper (we need to either see your faces OR the photo needs to be nude and full length if you're concerned about privacy; your choice).
3. Upload using the link xxxxxxxx
4. We'll review the photo and check that it matches the photos on your account and your account type (so if you're a couple we need to see both of you) and approve it. If you're not holding the piece of paper with your username and sitename on, we won't accept the verification pic because it proves nothing.
5. Your profile page will show the "photo-verified" icon
Benefits
For females and couples, proves you are who you say you are and that you're not single guys pretending.
Proves your photos are genuine because we check they match your verification pic.
Highlights your profile with a special photo verified flag:
Makes the site better for everyone who is genuine and harder for fakers and timewasters.
We'll be giving extra benefits to those who are photo-verified shortly so stay tuned get verified
Some Frequently Asked Questions about photo-verification
Q. I'm already verified by others, why should I should not automatically get photo-verified?
This is in addition to the verification system where other site members verify you, not a replacement for it. If you want to get photo-verified in addition to being verified, you'll need to spend 2 minutes taking the pic and uploading it.
Q. I don't want to get photo-verified.
The system is entirely optional so that's everyone's personal choice.
Q. I don't want to get photo-verified because I'm scared about my privacy.
You don't need to show your face or make yourself personally identifiable. If you don't want to show your face, full length nude shots are fine (you must of course still be holding the piece of paper).
Q. The new system doesn't prove anyone is a "genuine" swinger.
That's correct, all we meen by genuine is that it does is verify that there is a couple / fem / male present and aware that they are on the site. Look for other verifications if you want to see if someone is actively meeting.
Q. Will the verification photo show on my profile?
No, it won't show on your profile. At some point in the future we may give you the option of showing it on your profile, but it will be entirely your choice and the default will always be for your verification photo to be 100% private.
Q. Why bother with this when other members can verify people?
There are flaws in both systems, but taken together if someone has been verified by others and photo-verified that is a very good sign. Photo verification is great for single females or genuine couples who have joined but not yet met or cammed, to proove that they are genuine. If you spot suspicious female or couple profiles e.g. with fake looking photos and no verifications it's now easy for us to compell them to photo-verify.
A major flaw with the current verification by others system is that it is very easy for a single guy to get verified on cam without any meets then verify a single fem or couple profile (we'll be making this much harder for people to do also). """"
shows they realise it was a slipery sloop to problems as they have one system and see it is open to abuse.

To be honest Ian, you and Dawnie have pretty much verified that you both are who you say you are via your status, just like most people attending a munch or social have done likewise to others present.

But this highlights one of the major problems I have with verification.
Due to lack of childcare, we can often be found out separately at munches, socials, parties, clubs (I wish she would go shopping on her own lol ).
Going on the previous comments in this thread, if I ever turned up at an event without Dawnie, then I would be branded a cheating, lying single bloke pretending to be a couple.
Ian
Looks like we're in the same boat then :lol2:

Using Steve as an example, he's been on the forums for a while, participates in the chatrooms, has attended numerous socials and munches, whether he has had meets I don't want to know (discretion). Surely all those add to the process of find out if someone is genuine.
Why so hung up on non-complete profiles? Surely there are plenty on here that are complete.

Use me please :rascal:

Do notchange SH, its still works, but real swingers like us will not be loging in, for the site admin's this will not be a problem they will still get their money, but for us it will not be a swinging site just a networking site.
so change the name to "SOCIAL HEAVEN"
sorry but thats how I feel

Yes, it does work, so why change it?
Would that be for the 'real' swingers, who it seems are that 'real' they want to rely on what other people think of their potential playmates rather than make up their own untainted opinions.
"This won't cause a two tier site" people have said, your post say's different doesn't it?
What will it be next? 'Real' swingers have the tick?
What will that make anyone who desn't have the tick?
Fake? Men pretending to be women or couples? Timewaster's?
I have no pictures, my profile contains enough information to inform folk's I'm not actually here to meet anyone for sexual purposes, it will never have this much vaunted green tick or show any feedback whatsoever. Does that make me fake, or a timewaster? People may see my post's or talk to me in a chatroom, but as soon as they look at my profile they know the score.
I have been a member of this site for over three years, as part of a couple I have met people, Now due to circumstances beyond my control, I am in a situation where I probably won't ever swing again.
Why should I leave the site because of that? I have made friends here, I enjoy the cut and thrust of the forums, I like a laugh occasionally in the chatroom.
Should I leave because I do not swing?
In all honesty, if 'real' swingers won't log in simply because people are not interested in rushing to verify themselves as 'genuine' people, then imho, the site will be better off without the 'real' swingers. I'm sure the rest of the fake's and timewasters will still meet, go to socials and munches and have lots of fun.
Quote by Deviants
we have already stated verifications wont stop timewasters, but it might cut in half the the amount of fake profiles around.

Deviant's.
Surely it will only cut down the amount of 'fake' profiles if it is a mandatory 'must verify' system and every last profile has to be verified?
Otherwise it's pointless.........and will cause a two tier site.
I pity the admins if this gets off the ground because boy are they going to be busy!
Experience tells me that if it is not mandatory, a lot of those with ticks will think anyone without a tick is to be avoided.
I had a swing mate once who found swinging easy. He was popular and at most of the events. But he had no real passion for it. He was just there to fill some time, because it would have been churlish not to have turned up to the invites. He was a genuine time waster. He wasted his time not anyone else's.

Room for us all on here, the folk who meet, and the ones who dont! A nice honest profile message on the non meeters profile page helps! There are a lot of folk on here just here to cam, chat, post, and have fun in that way, its just the way it is, as I already typed, there is room for everybody!
Yes the time wasters are very annoying (had one or two!) The problem if you make it one will never be solved, just try to make good judgement calls.
it does takes a bit of time , but I feel you can now spot the ones who are likely going to mess you around.
Plenty of sites out there to choose from though, we quite like this one now, and will be staying around!
Lucys post.
What is a swinger?
What is real swinger?
what is a fake swinger?
What is a timewaster?
what are we?
I am confused how I would be precieved
We did meet have met a couple of guys this last year, but have decided not to meet at this stage due to other family stuff going on, we don't know at this stage if it is something we might light to do at a later stage or not.
If we did come back would we be fake as having no tick?
Should I not be here?

do you know what..... I was reading cossies last post.. then thinking exactly the same thing...
still waiting on the defination of "real"... and "swinger".... then putting both together.....
heck maybe we should have the "when is a swinger not a swinger" debate again.... that would be a barnburner!!! bolt
This is how I would like it to go.
Every member has the option to either allow verification or not. For those like us that would, we would only allow a couple of verifications saying that we meet and are genuine.
Now if we say met a single guy, we would ask him if he wanted us to verify him, in other words he turned up and was a nice guy. OUR verification for him would remain annoymous, so WE would not be shown as leaving it. He would of course have the option of allowing that verification.
I am not talking about being able to leave something like " shit shag, a right arse ". The whole point for us would be to see people have met others, and that they are genuine, and they are who they say they are. ANY verifications left, must be annoymous otherwise people would clearly see who you had met.
Are you still with me boys and girls, cos it is confusing, and I know what I am thinking. lol
IF we saw say five guys profiles and they all seemed very meetable, but two had verifications and the other three did not, we would be more likely to contact those WITH verifications. There lies the main problem here.
It seems the people who do not want verifications are the ones that think, they will be at a disadvantage where others are concerned. IF people had none at all, would other prospective meets bother with their profile, IF another person had verifications?
There lies a lot of peoples fears I feel.
IF I was a single guy on here, I would do everything to make people believe I am not a timewaster, as so many are. If being verified uped my chances, which I think it would, of them getting a meet, I would take it with both hands.
But for this to work it HAS to be at the discretion of that member as to whether or not they opt in, and ALL verifications MUST be anonymous for the giver of any verification.
That for us is how we would like to see it work. I think it would work well if done like that, but as I have said before, it would work for us, but maybe not others.
If this is going to be brought in I think this would be the fairest way of doing it....unless others think differntly of course. wink
thats the point single guys or fakes will do ANYTHING to appear genuine or more meetable including making a one off payment for a months subscription for a 2nd profile just to varyfie themselves and if its anonymous who's going to be any the wiser? They have their green tick and can time waste to their hearts content! Independant verification is the only way it would work if we had to have it. Though don't see why we should!

Ok the ones that have verification you say look more reliable, over time say that verification was marked in 2009 and we are now in 2010. he/she/they met once went well, so verfication was left. But since have decided not to meet again, but still like a sexy chat with a male/female/couple.
would the verification be pointless then or still give you reasurance?

can I also point out the bit in blue.... and ask you a simple question....
so where does that leave the newbie? obviously will have no varification....catch 22, no meets without varification, and no varification without meets
you just made them in effect jump thru more hoops to get meets......
I always ask this of people, and I have not heard a really good reponse yet, so kents I'll ask you...
"now put yourself back in the position of being newbies, not knowing anyone here, probably nervous enough as it is, and then coming across people like you now who say they would be drawn to people with varification, or people like cossie who have flatly said no varification no time for you full stop regardless!"
how would you feel? honestly.... because you have no ticks... you have less, actually less is the wrong word! you have a harder time being accepted into the scene
yes people may not like what we have now... but what we have at the moment is a level playing field....
people do there research, go on there instinct, some people go to socials to meet people before they decide to play, some people go to clubs.... and whatever works for them, go on em...
what i still don't quite get is why people wants to try and change it into a generic copy of every swinging website out there...
different sites work for different people because people tend to use them differently.... I am of different sites because there are different!
I fear that in the midst of the changes, SH is going to lose the one thing that makes it great... its uniqueness
it was that uniqueness that drew the owners to buy the site in the first place, it was that uniqueness that cause the chatroom split, the first forum split and my cause this to go horribly wrong as well...
Minxy you could put every bit of bollox on the table about anything. You could pick negatives in anything.
I knew a guy from my golf club that won £2.9 million on the lottery, and still moaned as he said " If I would have won last week, I would have won double that ". The point is nothing is perfect but.... you can only start off on the right footing.
People will moan about anything. People who PAY to use this site could say " why should the non payers have a say ? ". Should it only be the people who contribute financially to this site, have the final say? I do not pay and feel that I contribute to the site, all be it bollcoks most of the time. Here comes Dave Notts now. lol
I know minxy that you build up a relationship via the chat rooms to get your meets, there is no secret there as you have said so many times in chat, for all to see. But for us we have neither the time, or the inclination to take months to meet someone.
We of course want to chat, see some pics and maybe chat on the phone but....verification to us would be an easier way to validate that someone is who they say they are.
Validations should also have a date that they were given, so people could see they were not from two years ago.
Nothing is perfect, but.............something is better than nothing, in my opinion.
I have lots of good ideas for the site, but will wait for Admin to contact me first.

How the heck have I ?
IF every member was only going to meet people with verifications, then your above comment would be vaild but.....check the figures in the poll. A bigger percentage do NOT want verifications.
You are acting as if everyone will ignore newbies. Sorry but that is bollox and you know it.
I have always stated this is the way WE would like to see it go. Why do some have a problem with what WE want. I do not give a toss really what others want but.....am open to listen to their side of the arguement and have not slagged anyone off on this thread, for having differing opinions to mine.
It may work for us and it may not, but until it is brought in and tried, who knows.
Sorry Fabs do not mean to sound an arse, but newbies will still be able to gain verifications, as a bigger ammount of people, will NOT be verified. That is what the poll say's anyways.
777 forgive me if I am wrong, but dates for ticks has not be mentioned before, so prehaps that is something else that would be needed.
