Some of your replies, especially one I have read today, are blatantly against the AUP...
Be thatnkfull you are still able to post is my opinion and turn off the pc as your frame of mind is not one condusive to happy chatting/posting.....
I really don't know what you're on about - I have no idea what's caused this, but you seem almost obsessed that people are getting at you??? dunno
I've seen a few threads where you've been having a good ol banter with people, posts going backwards and forwards etc, you seemed to be having fun?
We all have opinions, if it's a personal opinion you're stating, then make that clear. Course it doesn't make you a bad person if it isn't the same as everyone elses - it's what makes for some of the best threads around, loads of people with different opinions.
So, my opinion now lol Quit fretting about it, enjoy yourself, have a laugh, maybe have more of a read back over past threads and see the type of poster that you would feel comfortable bantering with, pick out threads you're comfortable and confident with to post in - just stop worrying ok!! kiss
Cor this one might run for a while biggrin
Like all things there is a general opinion held by most peeps in a social group. You won't be completely out of whack, unless you are deliberately being a menace.
Think I've just found the thread you're referring to, the Unlocked chatroom one??
You've got your opinion, other people have theirs - simple as.
Do you consider the people that have a different opinion to yours, as bad people?? Cos that's the flip side of the argument you're putting across in your first post?
One thing you're not gonna get on this site is 500000 members all agreeing with each other, it's impossible. So the best you can do, is say your bit, say how you feel, defend how you feel..... but not to the detriment of other peoples feelings. Respect how others feel, respect others opinions, sure have your own, make them known, but be aware that you ain't gonna get everyone agreeing with you cool

lol read above response from op
what road do we take?
differing opinions again.
See you're doing it again!!!! smackbottom :smackbottom: :smackbottom:
If something is annoying you, then question it, discuss it, offer your feelings on it, be prepared to apologise for any offence caused if it's not what you intended and offer the alternative intended meaning.
Basically, draw a line under it all - start again frommmmmmmmm now  and be prepared to say how you feel about a post, question it's meaning if you think it's something derogatory towards you, don't start new threads about it, cos it's soooo confusing (see my first post in here, I didn't have a clue what you were on about). If it is something blatently offensive, then contact one of the mods and get another point of view.

If you have an opinion about a subject that I disagree with I'll say so, but it doesn't mean I'll disagree with everything you say or that I think you're a bad person, it just means that on that one subject we disagree. I'm not going to try to change your opinion, just make you aware of mine, so long as you show me the same respect, everythings fine.
I just read that back and it sounds like I've disagreed with you on here, I can't be bothered to re-write it biggrin , can you just take it as a generalisation

I'm a fine one to talk about chilling out but don't take things so personaly. If some one dissagrees so what it don't matter.
I often find some posts not a personal atack more a general slant at me rhen i go off on one (originaly in the thread itself but more in the steam room these days) but i calm down afterward and have recently found myself able to keep away from the fire lol
Don't let things escalate as that just makes it worse and have recently seen a member banned because of it. Some will even goad you to respond just move away from it. It's too stressful to keep rising to comments.

No your not a bad person for having a difference of opinion.....but i do believe you have the arse big time over this OP matter.....and if someone does not agree with you....you can get stroppy....that is something i have noticed from several threads from the last day or two......in fact i have not seen any matter resolved other than the thread being locked which shouldn't be the way......and why do you always have to throw in "the forum clichy".....if more than two regular forum users disagree with you...thats not really fair is it!

You already know the answer to the first one ! Thats what a forum is for after all!
People on here have nothing else to judge you by other than your posts or your chat in the chatrooms. They hav'nt anything else to go on. So yes it does warrant. But that also applies to everyone else on here too.

Take it from someone who knows... Its nothing personal from most people, some like to think its more than it is and huff and puff till they blow themselves down but be real and enjoy the place... take no notice of the people who think more of themselves than they should.. its as much your forum as anyones!
So long as you keep within the rules and try not to take little digs to heart you will soon learn to laugh them off. I do lol.... There are some lovely people on here make no mistake.... lots to learn and some great advice.
Mike
Can I just suggest ( to everyone, me included ) when airing your own views on a particular subject reread your post before you hit the submit button. If it sounds a little sharp then edit it.
We've all made comments about something we feel strongly about and maybe come across as a bit harsh and although 99% of people don't mean it as a personal attack on other members, sometimes what we say in the heat of discussion can sound a bit harsh.

...only don't leave it too long otherwise you'll get logged out and then you'll be well and truly peed off!
Quick update on that last one......if you're in the chatroom, you don't get logged out of the forums no matter how long you take - Katie Boyle tip of the day smile

In my opinion, and one of the reasons I take less interest in this forum than I used to, most people on here prefer pluralism. They'd like everyone to agree with them and for us all to be like one big happy insular family. They prefer the lowest common denominator.
Not only that they get a nark when this is pointed out. Why rock the boat blah blah blah rolleyes
Gettin shitfaced at munches .... celebrated!........ people get very defensive about that, what about the people who don't drink?
There has been no intellectual development without disagreement, it develops human understanding.
What's wrong with a full on argument? (AUP considered)
Why can't people recognise that people are different and have differing values to themselves without the needy concern for sameism?
Life is about learning and having new experiences IMO, and not just about which pizzas people prefer.
Diversity and inclusion are both good.
You're a long time dead in your secluded box!!!
wink

Why does having a difference of opinion automatically mean arguement?
If I disagree with something on here I'll say so - but it's when it results in personal insults that the problems arise. It is possible to disagree with a point without belittleing or denigrating the person who made that point.
If everyone had the same opinions about everything there'd be no need for a forum, but agreeing to disagree is much better than personal snipes, don't you think?
