I've been on both sides.
I found out my friends boyfriend was cheating on her, i had the "evidence" and I confronted him about it...told him if he didn't tell her then I would. He didn't tell her, so I had to be the one to break the news.
It did put a strain on our friendship but in the end she admitted she was glad that someone had told her as she would have felt utterly humiliated if everyone knew and she didn't. As if someone cheating on you isn't bad enough.... having the whole world know about it isn't the best feeling in the world.
On the other side, I was being cheated on and one of my friends had to break the news to me. Of course, I already knew it was going on as I'm not stupid but I chose to ignore it up to that point. Then I realised how pathetic I was to want to stay with him and ended it. She said it was really hard to tell me as she knew that I knew she didn't like him anayway but she wanted to be a good friend and took the decision to tell me.
I think if i was in the situation now, if I was 100% sure and it was a good friend I'd say something....I couldn't not say anything as I'd feel too bad.
