lol So im calling on the clever peeps of sh to point me in the right direction..
I dont want something big or bulky, dek has a 19" screen acer and i cant use it comfortably
It doesnt need large memory or any fancy graphics really as i will only be using it to use msn, email and the internet and the pc has everything i need
The son has a portable dvd which is 8.5 inch and that size is fine so anything really under 15 inch and light
Oh and i dont want an internal cam confused as long as its wireless enabled
Pricewise? doesnt need to be expensive really
So anyone got any bargains up their sleeve?? kiss
If you just want it for internet type stuff and word processing have a look at the EEEPC's about, like this

they usually have about a 9 inch screen, built in wireless, smallish hard drive and decent ram. They're alos quite lightweight and portable
I'd suggest going into Curry's or PC world to try one out, then order it online if you like it. Ebuyer (above) are excellent, i've used them a lot and they have excellent customer service, unlike PC World wink
When my daughter's laptop broke I replaced it with the 9" netbook Acer I think it was, I thought it was lovely and so cute but she couldn't use it properly as it was making her squint to look at the screen, that said for some it would be ideal.
I took it back and replaced it with a ESystems lappy for It's basic but ideal for her needs.
:notes: Sarah makes notes, as her screen is about to split away from the keyboard part, owing to too much use!!
Thanks for the replies, basically i want something i can sit on my knee when im in bed or on the couch and not have to balance it or get dead legs
Will pop along to curries to see how easy the screens are on the eyes on the 9" ones

Oh ffs confused
It came with XP preloaded. It is marvellous. Worlass got a HP notebook from currys or some such pap.. same performance and then had to get XP uploaded as the pre-loaded linux was causing all sorts of nonsense.
Get one Tan from Morrisons.. you will be happy as the proverbial pig...
oh, and worlass paid for hers.
If you don't have to raid your bank account to afford it, buy a MacBook. I had to replace my old iBook earlier this year and got the MacBook and it is great. 13" screen means small enough to be still perfectly portable but it has high enough resolution to offer a lot of screen space to litter. I used to have a PC laptop parallel to the iBook but sold it. Macs are very quiet and don't take a lot of battery power. Their only problem is that there is no 'cheap' market segment. If you want the same quality in a PC laptop you'll pay currently actually more. But again, your decision depends on your budget. Oh, and the MacBook isn't for you if you want to go on cam in the chat rooms. Doesn't work for some reason but perhaps I just haven't spent enough time with the Flash settings.
