When my daughter's laptop broke I replaced it with the 9" netbook Acer I think it was, I thought it was lovely and so cute but she couldn't use it properly as it was making her squint to look at the screen, that said for some it would be ideal.
I took it back and replaced it with a ESystems lappy for It's basic but ideal for her needs.
:notes: Sarah makes notes, as her screen is about to split away from the keyboard part, owing to too much use!!
Thanks for the replies, basically i want something i can sit on my knee when im in bed or on the couch and not have to balance it or get dead legs
Will pop along to curries to see how easy the screens are on the eyes on the 9" ones
Cue Tan's posts in the technical thread relating to Linux :P
It came with XP preloaded. It is marvellous. Worlass got a HP notebook from currys or some such pap.. same performance and then had to get XP uploaded as the pre-loaded linux was causing all sorts of nonsense.
Get one Tan from Morrisons.. you will be happy as the proverbial pig...
oh, and worlass paid for hers.
If you don't have to raid your bank account to afford it, buy a MacBook. I had to replace my old iBook earlier this year and got the MacBook and it is great. 13" screen means small enough to be still perfectly portable but it has high enough resolution to offer a lot of screen space to litter. I used to have a PC laptop parallel to the iBook but sold it. Macs are very quiet and don't take a lot of battery power. Their only problem is that there is no 'cheap' market segment. If you want the same quality in a PC laptop you'll pay currently actually more. But again, your decision depends on your budget. Oh, and the MacBook isn't for you if you want to go on cam in the chat rooms. Doesn't work for some reason but perhaps I just haven't spent enough time with the Flash settings.
