Got my pictures for my profile at last only fucking stupid dial up means that they are taking ages to download from my e-mai!! half an hour!! arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhh

Yeah I know, Im just impatient!! dunno why its taking so long though?? Half an hour, is that normal even on dial up for a few piccies?? Its been so long using broadband this is just like a bloody nightmare! sad

right fruity? the prob is yer piccies are too big. but it's ok you can shrink 'em you know. if you make 'em smaller they upload a lot quicker. even on my shite 56k dial up. you just need to do some techie stuff, but bugger me if i know how to do it? dunno

I know exactly what you mean. When Vix & I first moved here, we went from having a cable modem to a 56K dial-up AOL account. It was 6 months before our village hit the target levels for broadband, and another 3 'til they got it installed. It's just a 512K ADSL connection, but it's heaven compared to dial-up! It's the sorta thing you don't realize how much you rely on until it's gone.

I used to hate dial up.....it was a nightmare and kept on disconnecting me.....but now I have broadband and hardly ever get disconnected.... :bounce: :bounce:

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before, and as its a useful tool I hope the link will be allowed on the site, but NetMechanic has an online image optimiser.
This reduces the file's size without compromising the quality too much, you do need to have set the dimensions beforehand though.
Its free to use as well :-)
