Sorry but I've been thinking about it for 13 years and I'm now finally going to do it!!!!!

Ooooo, Well done kiss
I went back in my late 30's and carried on for ten yrs! Loved every minute of it.
If everything goes as planned I will be at it for the next 4 years and I just can't wait to get stuck in.....even the maths bit excites me...who knows I might actually be able to understand it this time round lol
enjoy.... and good luck
lp
wow -clever girl. You are still swinging aren't you? You don't have to give this up do you ? ? cool
Well done you kiss
What you going to learn dunno
is this a tax dodge?
lol Splen...I don't have to give it up no...there's always time for a shag. I'll have a window of opportunity at about 2am to 5am on most days shall I pencil you in???
Dawnie..I'm taking an access course for about 8 months and then hoping to do a midwifery degree subject to acceptance after it :notes:
Tyracer...No tax dodge as I'll be working full time whilst doing the access course confused
How exciting is that!
Good luck
Cool hun.......
Hope you really enjoy it, I'm sure you will....
I did some OU courses the other year, I loved it....
I know this is going to sound a bit patronising but I don't mean to.
I have total admiration for any adult that takes on a learning course. Whether it is something acedemic, playing an instrument or learning to swim.
As children we accept that we don't know things and happily go along while people teach us. With every passing year this fades until as 'grown ups' we feel like we know everything about everything. There is also the fear of failure and looking like an idiot to over come.
So well done for taking the plunge and good luck.
Plus you can always bring your homework here for answers I believe another member did a lot of research for her degree by prompting our ranblings.
Yay! Good for you.
I went back to college at 35 and had a ball, although if you're doing midwifery you'd be hoping for babies not balls.
I know you'll be great.
H.x
biggrin Yay Go Fire !!! :D
Well done and hope it all goes brilliantly xxxxx
Fire
Good luck, don't forget to pop in here and ask for help with your homework!!!

Good on you Fire.
I went back last year and even though it is very tiring, especially when you are working full time as well, it is so rewarding and enjoyable. And this time round you are doing it because you want to do it rather than when you was at school and being made to do it.
Good luck biggrin
Best of luck! I'm told it's much easier to learn stuff if you really, really want to...

I looked into doing this once, I don't know if it's the same anymore or if you would consider it, but...
If you choose to do the Midwifery Diploma you get grants to help you out each year, so gives you more time to concentrate on your education as you wouldn't have to work full time and no nasty student loans.
My friend done the Diploma and she was told that there was not much preference to employees who had studied the degree. Plus you can upgrade to the degree at a later date.
Just a thought....
Good luck! kiss
good for you honey, hope you enjoy it, i feel like i have never left lol
good luck firelizard i went to uni in my late 30's and wouldnt have changed anything i hope u enjoy it
Fire, I've shared my story with you already, you know I've every admiration and if I can do it, anyone can. kiss
Good luck fire!
I went back to college in 2006 aged 43, did my access course (equiv 4 A levels) plus a couple of GCSEs - I imagine this is similar to what you're doing.
Now here I am in my final year at university. I'll graduate (I hope!) in May 2009 with a BA Hons in English and Creative Writing with Heritage Studies.
It hasn't been easy but it's gone past so fast and it will for you too ... before you know it, the 4 years will have passed and you'll be clutching your midwifery degree smile
Wishing you all the best
Any excuse to wear the school girl outfit innocent
