In praise of Internet Shopping

As a typical bloke, I hate shopping. Of course, at this time of year it's unavoidable. The crowds, the bags, the cheesy Christmas songs being played in shops - but not any more! For the last two or three years I have done it all online. I sit here with a large glass of wine, order what I want painlessly and it all turns up on my doorstep a couple of days later. Bliss!
I have also been buying all my suits and shirts online for three or four years. If you can find a supplier whose quality you like and you know the sizes fit you then it's great!
We have now discovered food shopping online as well (we're a bit slow on the uptake!). Admittedly Sappho has to do that as I just sit there and complain about the design of the forms and that "I wouldn't have done it like that", but I have to say that it works.
Anyone else feel like this - or do you prefer the 'cut and thrust' of the real thing?

Oh my goodness...lovely to see you posting again!!!!
and give me internet everytime wherever possible xxxxx
You double posting sod, i just got all confused and thought my post had disappeared smackbottom lol
Nope
Give me the comfort of my own little box and I will stay here forever if I can
But I do hate online food shopping rolleyes  forms!!!!! who stupidly designed such tosh?????
Oh ya can order dominoes pizza online though
Done all our Christmas shopping on line this year - it's fantastic.
We've started the groceries on line now as well.
Two things I find with that is we spend more because we just horse it in the basket - never had so many large pork pies in me life - the other is that we often cannot work out the quantities.
One week we ordered tomatoes on the vine Qu 1 and got one tomato redface - the picture showed 6 and we found the weights in grams incomprehensible. Surprisingly we've found the meat to be really good as well.

Agreed. The only way fer us is Tescos Express Shopper, which is quite good or just going to our previous orders and selecting from that.

We're actually spending about £30 a week less (even taking the delivery charge into account). We always make a list but when you go round a store you see things and think "Oooh, that looks nice." The next thing you know, it's in your tolley. Not to mention what the kids chuck in there when you're not looking!
Shopping online you tend to work through your list and that's it.

Glad it's not just us.

Oh God, yes. When I buy fruit and veg in person I go by how much I think I'll need, not how much it weighs. You know, three or four parsnips, as many loose brussel sprouts as I think looks about right. Suddenly I have got to know how many grams! What the chuffing hell is a gram anyway? Will chunters on about imperial measures.....ad nauseum

We so did that too! We laughed ourselves silly when we realised.
One thing I find annoying is if they haven't something in stock then they always swap it for the most expensive alternative.
Without Amazon I'd be fucked at Christmas.
I don't particularly like grocery shopping online, but I do rather like the way Asda's website is set up. When I did have to use it when I had a broken leg it was a doddle to use one I'd set up my usual purchase. And like others have stated I tended to have cheaper shopping as opposed to when I wandered (especially when peckish!).
Yep  big fan of online shopping.
