EVERYONE SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THIS: Facebook changed their site again. Go to "Friends" then click "Phone Book" at the left. Every one of your friends' phone numbers is now visible! Go to "Settings" > "Account Settings" > "Privacy" > "Profile". Click "Contact Info" tab and change your settings. If you're on Facebook Mobile your number shows regardless of whether you have provided Facebook with it knowingly or not!

my number isnt on there,i never put it on there, and if i did i dont see why having it in a friends phonebook is a problem, as it would be in my profile info anyway?? if its not there it isnt in this bit??
in edit, also checked and out of 20 or so friends only 10 of them are in the phone book that i see as only 10 of them ever put their number on their profile

I've never entered my phone number anywhere on FB and I'm ex-directory (both land and mobile) so I'm just wondering how they're supposed to get my number. 
But the "phone book" button on my friends page says something about validation error and doesn't work.
Anyone else has probs please post up, but I tend to think there's maybe a small amount of hysteria surrounding this. :?

My number is the same as yours easy but it was there it is the number you use when you register your account on facebook. I have just checked mine and it now has been removed as i made it private.

Why do you have the same number as easy? Doesn't that get confusing? :giggle:
Some of my friends' numbers are showing... I don't think mine is on there but I don't have anyone on my profile who doesn't have my number anyway.

The website wanted my mobile number to comment on Shirley Manson's thing. I found it odd that a social networking site wanted to send me codes in text like it was a bank or something. Apparently it wanted to make sure I was real...

A couple of applications on FB ask for mobile numbers. At which point I hit the back button and never use that application again.
These aren't FB wanting the info, it's other companies trying to get your mobile number by deception.
