IPod Emergency !!!!

I want one and I can't get one!!!! :cry: :cry:
As you may be aware I'm off on my hols on Sunday and I want to get an Ipod and load it up before I travel. However, Both Dixons AND Comet have said none of their shops have any in stock.
So I'm asking a BIG, BIG favour of all the SH peeps in the NorthWest - can you help me find one? 40gb 4th Generation is the model I'm after. Could anyone who has a bit of spare time and a loving nature contact any local stores you think might have one and if they do, let me know ASP. It must be in the NorthWest and I will collect today if they have one.
I can't offer payment for the service you would do for me as I would then have to ban myself redface

Unless you've downloaded iTunes from the internet and imported your music already, you'd better be prepared to go without sleep until you leave for your jollies. It took me an age to get only 10Gb on my 20Gb model!
Enjoy using the little white wonder though. They're amazing machines.

It's my flatmates birthday today and her b/f bought her a 40Gb iPod. As she doesn't know how to use her laptop (blonde, hairdresser, nuff said) she asked me to install it for her... No probs I said...
She has the slowest laptop in christendom, and it's WIndows ME... so the iPOd won't work... and, as it's only got a 2Gb HD (I know, how old!) Windows XP wouldn't even fit on her machine....
Looks like the b/f is going to be forking out for a new laptop for Xmas!

I've just collected the little beauty - now sat happily alongside me charging up, ready to rock n' roll when I get home. lol

Beware though, they are now on 4th generation Ipods, so you need to make sure in case someone tries to clear their stock of 3rd generation and you don't realise there is a difference. Â£280 for mine - a bargain. Thanks H, I luv ya to bits!! kiss

MY iPod is the light of my life... tomorrow morning it's going to be wired into my car stereo via a FM Modulator. Watch this space for a frazzled Nallers and a joyful Jags biggrin

Yeah I agree the Creative ones are much better......... but the iPods are fast becoming a design classic (and I'm fed up trying to inform people what's better rolleyes

Mine is a Creative because it was *much* cheaper at the time -
bought in the US at a very favourable exchange rate (price is the
only reason i dare give if Jags is in the vicinity - its just not worth
risking a better / worse type comparison)

I like my mobile... I need one anyway so it free, it plays movies and MP3 (no it NOT on 3, ugh) But I can watch hold about 3 hours of movies on it with a 256 Mini SD card. Its an orange SPV C500...

When even the box the iPod comes in is a thing of great beauty then it doesn't matter to me if Creative is better value, better sound, better battery better anything. The value of the iPod for me is it's beauty, it's feel, it's look. It's what good design is about - the blending of 'form' and 'function' in the good old traditional way. Other makes may be just as functional but the form is missing.
