I will be at the Ipswich Beer Festival on Saturday 24 Sept so if anyone wishes to join me for a chat and a pint I will be there in the evening, almost certainly wearing my longsleeved top with an amusing beer related enscription upon it.
Regards

No chance I bought a whole round for my friends who were up visiting last weekend, and I only buy one round a month at most :!: It's indoors but no doubt I will need my flat cap for the cold walk back to my brother's car afterwards (but he's not coming to the beer festival). Brown socks are mandatory   However I will not be wearing socks at the forthcoming Rio's meet as I will have my sporty flip flops - any practical ideas on how to carry my flip flops around at social meets in case of after parties~?

Indeed I do Mr Jones. For i am full of bright ideas and you may just find this idea for your flip flops, very useful. Nay, even brilliant!
Before you set off, post your flip flops to the club where the after party will be held. Phone the management and instruct them not to open the package when it arrives. If you end up there, retreive your package and open and wear aforesaid flip flops. In the event you don't go to the after party, phone the management when you get home and instruct them to place package into the postal system with "return to sender" on it... bingo.. Homing Flip-Flops.
In the event of not knowing where the after party will be held, post many packages of Flip-Flops to all the likely places you could end up... and spend the sunday afterwards phoning 50 or so people... i am sure all of your Flip-Flops will be returned

How about just tying 'em together with a longish piece of string and hanging 'em round your neck? dunno

I thought it was a bit less complicated than your suggestion postie. Whilst liking your ideas I did kinda think that there was an easier way.

Thanks Benz but I get cold feet and hands very quickly hence why I am a shoes and socks man save for when in Rio's. I have even been spotted sitting at the bar in a pub in my socks and shoes drinking lemonade and lime when staying overnight in a pub one night, before I discovered the joys of a fine pint of real ale.
