My Father always says it is a lack of vocabulary!
Maybe he has a point.
Am always right. lol

What your father seems to have forgotten/not realised/not understood (please delete as appropriate) is that profanity IS vocabulary. Swear words have uses and definitions the same as any other word, but sometimes there is no effective replacement for a well placed F-Bomb!
I swear at times, never in front of my patients or families, never in work or in shops etc and try not to in front of my son ( though at 18 he's probably heard worse rolleyes ) My Dad loathed bad language and would think nothing of telling a foul-mouth off. I said bloody in front of him once and he went off the deep end at me redface
I heard my Mum say the F word the other week though  I was horrified!

I dont think I want to delete any of those. I find those comments offensive, and seeing as my last two threads have been locked, any chance of you playing elsewhere confused: :?: Before this one suffers the same fate?

I never swear because I need to. My vocabulary is up to doing what I need to do without it. However, I swear when I want to. There's a time and a place for it. Sometimes it's apt.
I want my target audience to understand the nature of any abuse I may be dishing out.
I love this little emotcion....
:wanker: Also the :kissmyarse:
Very apt me thinks, though never used them before. lol But now I know they are there.....
I know I swear too much. At work I'm surrounded by guys who swear, they're even classed as technical terms "it's fucked" "no fucking chance".
I swear like a trooper in the pub and/or if I'm mad or get frustrated. I'm quite partial to a bit of road rage lol
I can turn it off though, out of my office with my close collaegues when its down to business, with customers and with clients.. on the phone, in public. Even my accent changes when I'm on the phone though I don't realise I'm doing it lol
I never swear at my kids but I'd be lying if I said the odd fucking hell didn't slip out in their presence, especially playing mario kart redface
I'm not one for swearing on-line or off-line - personally I don't like to hear it or see it. Although at times it can be said with good effect in certain situations.
I'm not bothered however ones wants to define it, whether it be from the dictionary, googled or their own definition. Its about whether you (and I) the members feel it is excessive and therefore find it offensive.
From a site point of view:
Acceptable Use Policy 'AUP'
Non Acceptable Behaviour.
Your account shall be terminated immediately and we may report you to the relevant authority if your behaviour on our website consists of any of the following:
Excessive profanity will not be tolerated.

I can only say, if you feel that has happened on the forums - complain. Send a link of the post/thread to a moderator/Admin and it will be looked at.
I swear when I've REALLY lost my temper, but that's rare.
I'm not a fan of ladies swearing in 'every day language' but I don't mind the odd outburst.
Jay hates men profusely swearing around me.
Last I heard, we live in a free country with freedom of speech. I cant understand what all the fuss is about dunno Its coming to something, with all thats going on in this rotten world, when people find cursing offensive but there ya go.
Swearing ISpart of the vocabulary and before anyone asks, on rare occassions lol

I agree to a certain extent but for me there's swearing which is ok, and there's really vulgar swearing where there's no need... I'll not go into loads of detail but I hate to hear the words mother**cker and I really don't like the c*nt word either.
Normal swearing has been around for hundreds of years.

I dont like that word either but then there are other words I dont like such as, war, murder, paeodophile,
etc etc and I really do find such words more offensive because of what they truly mean.

I said I agreed with you and I agree even more about the other words, but I'm not sure I would class them as swear words.
I'm swearing a lot today. I'm having a REALLY bad day. I even used the one word I loathe and detest (the C*** word) I have used it 3 times this year and today was one of them. That's how mad I am.
Normally I don't swear a huge amount. I used to, it was the done thing where I grew up. When I go back there now and listen to my old friends and my sister, I cringe. Like winchwench, I have expanded my vocabulary enough to express what i'm feeling without swearing.
Today is not one of those days. Today I am frustrated beyond belief therefore today I have regressed and become once again the common as muck Northerner I was dragged up to be and I hate it!
Normal service shall resume tomorrow

...is it fuck!

There are too many civil liberties being slowly taken from us for us to class ourselves as a 'free country'.
As for freedom of speech, it is nothing at all like the freedom of speech the Americans 'enjoy', in this country we have freedom of speech unless it offends, is libellous, slanderous etc.
I never swear although I did say poo once..... rolleyes

Well if somebody called me or someone close to you " a fu-king Cu-t, am sure I would find that ten times more offensive.
If you find the word war more offensive than that, then I am confused.

My communication skills aren't lacking, merely in a higher category than yours.
Personally I find war very offensive, certainly of a greater magnitude than being called a cunt.

Get a life. If your communication skills were that high, why did you not use them in your foul tirade on another thread only yesterday?
Run out of proper words in the dictionary you keep by the side of your bed?
