I swear, maybe everyone swears but, is there a time and a place for it or is it just not acceptable full stop? dunno
My Father always used to say it was down to a lack of vocabulary.
There are times when I would not swear at all, but hear others swearing blue murder at their kids in a supermarket.
So do you find excessive profanity acceptable, or just downright unacceptable?
i love a good fucking swear session ya cunt
but yeah do know when n where it is acceptable or not as the case may be
don't like swearing around kids
don't swear in front of my clients
mildly swear in front of my mum
swear me head off at hubby but only cause it makes him hard lol

That made me chcukle that one.
I'm not usually much of a swearer- and I hate to hear swearing dotted around sentences in public.
However, if I've been crewing for a few days I (allegedly) come back & turn the air blue redface
What is actually "excessive"?
Fuck yes!
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. - That excessive enough??

I would say that was excessive if say I heard that said in a public place, but in the bedroom could be a turn on.

Oh and just for the record, excessive profanity? Fuck yeah!
apparently swearing reduces stress when its appropriate,i only swear when weight training and almost everyday while driving.....
I don't know about acceptable, but I do know that it can be bloody useful at times!

It's better than fuck off you bastard.
I don't like swearing and have NEVER sworn infront of my Mum. I just couldn't redface I have never sworn infront of my children. It would make me feel awful surprisedops:
I have 17 year old twin boys and have only heard one of them swear ONCE (bloody)....... he immediately turned round and said "Mum, sorry........ really sorry"
I don't kid myself that my children never swear when with friends......... but I am also glad that they feel it is wrong to swear infront of Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandad, Uncle, Aunt, any adult.
Naughty swearing is lovely........ swearing out of anger is not IMHO.

it depends on your company and the context.....

And swearing out of context is pretty ugly too.
Although I do genuinely believe that "fuck" is the most useful word in the world lexicon.

Maybe after the excessive bad language used in threads in the last few days, maybe think this thread should go to the top of the pile again.
So should excessive profanity be allowed on a public forum? confused: :?: :?:

Sorry Kenty. it isn't the wittiest things I have ever done by far.
I can't answer your question seriously as when using a term like 'excessive', it all becomes subjective and hard to argue. (well, for me anyway)
excessiveis always to much.
Today's wise saying.
It's all about using the correct tool for the job and if an expletive gets the point across best then it's the correct tool for the job.
If it's used just for the sake of it then it's arguably excessive, but if it's being used specifically to achieve an effect and for a specific reason then no, it's not excessive.
My Father always says it is a lack of vocabulary!
Maybe he has a point.
Am always right. lol

Well I have never heard him swear and he is now 76.
Am not saying he never has, just that I have never heard him. He has a much better way of cutting people down, by using words that people just do not know the meaning of. So funny when peoples facial expressions go " what ". Has made me chuckle a few times over the years.
They show their ignorance by just using fould words, he says he shows them up by them not having a clue what he means, which shows their ignorance in another light maybe. dunno
