Is it just a number or a state of mind?

I've a question: when does one become "an older woman"?
Now, bear with me... I often see people's profiles saying that they like older women and - in my head - that always means older than me. However, (dumb as this might sound redface) it is only just dawning on me that, now in my thirties, I am an 'older woman' to some.
Okay, I know there will be some logical pedants out there who will remark - quite correctly - that you are always older and younger than some other members. But, I mean more generally speaking: what do you class as being the age of the "older woman"?
In a way I quite like the idea that I could be someone's 'older woman'... but then I think feck no, I ain't nearly grown up enough to be classed as 'old.'
So, is age in the swinging world about numbers or about states of mind?

"I am not a number, I am a FREE MAN!"
actually, I may have said this before... but I have always had a 'thing' for the older woman.
However, that benchmark was set when a lot younger... and though I have aged (badly), the 'range' of ages that I first found attractive when I were young is still the same... so, on a technicality, today's 'older woman' can be younger than me, or indeed older.
so... errrm

I know what you mean, when i was younger i looked at my mum in her 40`s and thought "I wonder what that will be like" and now here i am, a good old 42, but like you I think is 42 old these days?
I used to look at profiles and think "oh no" at the 50 range but then i also used to look at the 30`s range and think that was now too young
So i think you pose a very good question, and maybe it doesnt really have a black and white answer.
i remember as a trainee of 18 saying it was disgusting old people had sex....and that it should be outlawed for people over 40!!
I got slapped for my opinions!!!
of course I am only 3 years away from 40 now and my opinions are differing slightly now!!
Age isn't a barrier any longer. I think "older" and "younger" people classify themselves in broad brackets and there is a broad mix of age ranges in both camps.
I'd say continence is more a barrier than age. And that isn't necessarily the case for some.
However I do think people have a sort of upper and lower limit based on their own age... At a rough (and I mean VERY rough guess) I'd say our limits are sort of -10 years to +12 years from our age (37). 27-49. Of course that increases with time and as with all things, there are always potential exceptions.
Youth passes but, with practice, immaturity can last a lifetime.
This is on my Mum's wall - she's 80 in June. :giggle:
Here I am- in my 50th year! I can honestly say I don't feel old mentally, but having a 12 year old could help there.
I do feel my age physically at times and it takes me days to get over a night out now!
I have always gone for the younger man (my ex was 11 years younger) but my "younger" has gone up over the past few years. Younger for me has to be in their 30s now, but I can't deny turning my head at some of the gorgeous younger things on here!!
I do believe it is more a state of mind, and your outlook on life shapes that.

Actually, having spent some of this evening flirting outrageously with a younger man :rascal: I think I could get into this older woman role
Some interesting comments though.
Age is just a number, honey kiss
Swinging is a state of mind.

Mmmm, guess it is. I think it is more interesting just to find out what other people class as 'old' - but bloody great to see just how varied the response is.

It depends how old you are though. When you're 16, anyone over 21 is old. Over 40 was definitely too old to be having sex
But when you get to 40, you realise that it's not and that sex is much better at 40 than it was at 16!
Do you know.. I have been thinking a lot about this today. I have no answers.. but such an interesting question. When I started swinging I had very fixed ideas about age and who I would have sex with (age wise) I think my lower age limit is still dependent on them being closer in age to me than my son. But that has been flexed recently redface.
The upper age limits is more about their attitude and I can honestly say that what bugs me more about any age is if their age or mine gets mentioned eg. 'I love older/younger women' or 'do you mind that I am so much younger/older than you?' that makes the age an issue and that bothers me.

So do you think they should be banned at 37 now? :lol2: bolt
Oh sorry.. I thought this was gonna be about big cocks....

I guess its all up to the individuals how they feel and what they class as 'older' in relation to themselves etc..
Me personally, have reservations about much younger people who are nearer my kids age than mine. If they are nearer my kids age than mine.. my own kids come to mind and it immediately feels wrong for me & I have alot of difficulty getting past them thoughts.
Saying that I did meet a m/f couple in their early 20's a few years back.. she was beautiful, curvy & sensual & he was tall, well built/broad & handsome..(both had just what turned me on) I did have the most ace playtime with them  but have chose not to meet others since.
The biggest thing that annoys me on this subject tho is this line in any contact I recieve..
"But I love older women"... why? cos there's no consideration in that statement of what 'I' feel comfy with.
Minxie :rascal: xx
I had a message from a gentleman the other day, he refered to me as a old has been, and I should not be on a swingers site.
I am 48, in my prime for sex!
The guy I did not know, never had messages from him before, not chatted to him in the rooms, as I dont go in them hardly at all now.
Very strange!
