does any one know if its legal to sleep with your sons brother i no it sounds mad but its got my head baffled
my ex whom i have a child with is sleeping with my son to another marriage there both over the age of concent but is it legal ?????
so it makes him her step son ???? confused not as much as me
any ideas ?????????

After splitting with my ex, I really don't think I would've gone near any of the people around him, certainly not a son of his (if he had one!) from a prev relationship :? :? :?

As others have said it's not illegal for them to be having sex, however if you and your ex were ever married your son and exwife would not be allowed to marry.

Having recently worked on a research project which covered consanguinity laws, I found it complex and changeable.
Consanguinity laws are based on the teachings of the Bible and this one may relate to the case in the original post of this thread - a tad extreme don't you think? :shock: lol

Leviticus, Chapter 20, verses 11-21
11. And the man that lieth with his fatherâ€™s wife hath uncovered his fatherâ€™s nakedness : both of them shall surely be put to death ; their blood shall be upon them.

However, rules which were changed in 1907 and again in 1921 and 1949, mean that a son can marry his husband's previous wife, *provided* that as a child he was not bought up by the husband's wife as one of her own children - thus if Dad met and married a woman when the son was an adult - son and wife could then legally carry on a relationship - *but* if Dad married the woman when the son was a child and he was bought up by the new wife, then his relationship would not be legal in terms of having a relationship with her, since she would then be considered his step mother and not just his father's wife - confused? Aren't we all :silly: :lol2:
Basically it's not illegal, it's not immoral, but it may be a bit close to home for most of us :lol:

I think you will find that the main reason for close blood relatives not being encouraged to have sex together is that if they have children the genetic weaknesses in each person is amplified and the risk of having a child with some sort of genetic disease or bran damage is more likely ... its why the Russian royal family ended up bearing a son with haemophilia.
So really its not a moral issue more one of heath risks.

Need more info.. were you married to this ex? if you were then the sons brother would have to have been over the age of consent when you married not at present, and did she see herself as his stepmum?

Need more info.. were you married to this ex? if you were then the sons brother would have to have been over the age of consent when you married not at present, and did she see herself as his stepmum?
Why does it matter if he was over the age of consent when they married (if they were)?
She's sleeping with him now, isn't she? And the relationship is over?

thank you people i wasnt sure if it was just me that thought it was a bit close to home i thought that because iwas so close this was making me feel this way, dealing with it is easy for me at least its the brothers relationship that i think will suffer in the long run im not trying to judge i just wasnt sure if it was legal ??? i think that most people are right in saying its not illegal there is no blood ties between her and him if you see what i mean its the blood between the two brothers that is worrying as im sure the younger one as he gets older will start to as mummy questions this will probable sound realy nasty but im glad im not the one that has to answer them, i suppose if it makes two people happy in this world who am i to condem the situation im sure there are worse situations out there
