Is The Kennel Club Racist (so to speak)

Hi, just thought I'd share a thought I've had of late.
Been a dog lover (and no not in that way) all my life and had quite a few pet dogs and I'll emphasise the word pet.
Now I dont want to upset any breeders or kc members that maybe on here but here's my gripe
I've always had pedigree dogs as pets until 4 weeks ago after a family meeting we decided we'd rescue a dog ( and I actually feel good about it ).
So he's a heinz 57 variety but he's cute loveable and is doing great in his training.
The other week my daughter mentioned crufts as we watched it and she was a bit dismayed that our dog could never enter crufts as he aint a pedigree and can never be kc registered. Then when I told her that previous dogs we'd had i.e Jack Russels aren't recognised by the kennel club she says thats wrong in this day and age.
So is the kennel club dog racist, or is it time for this long term exclusive club to let it's guard down,
because in todays politically correct world aren't they doing wrong
I'm afraid it's all about pure blood lines.
However, I find the idea of a baked bean-flavoured dog appealing lol
This is a good one, the kennel club can be a bit unfair I think. We have a white boxer dog and because of her colour she is not recognised being of kennel club standard even though she is a boxer through and through.. unfair.

Blood lines but just look at the house of lords that was always just inherited or bought and thats getting reformed now
In alot of ways i do understand where your coming from - with regards to certain breeds like JRT not being recognised.
However other points are there for other reasons. White boxers for example are known to quite often be deaf so i am sure this is one of the reasons this colour is not recognised! - potential health issues.
Before anyone jumps at me about boxers (and other breeds like pug, peke etc) nose being ultra - i know and i agree, BUT the powers that be have determined the breed standards and so breeders will try to breed a dog that fits into the criteria. However a good breeder will always breed for temperament before looks as the vast majority of her pups will go to pet homes. A good breeder will also always have any dog she has bred back should the owners for whatever reason be unable to keep it.
Whether the breed standards should be changed is another debate entirely. i dont understand how they can exclude colours for health issues - but actively encourage other traits which come with other serious health implications. i am however thankfull that they have banned docked dogs from being shown! (dogs docked after april i think anyway).
i'm no expert on this (being a novice cat breeder lol lol ), so please feel free to correct me.
sal xx
what does your dog have to say about it....more than likely he couldn't give a toss! lol
