This joke has just been told in the chat room and when a couple of people said it was offensive the teller was defended by several of the regulars in there.
" santa flying over thailand on christmas eve, he looks down and sees all the people waiting for him,,, he turns to his head elf and says,,, im just so tired what am i going to give all those people for christmas, the elf thinks about it and says,,,,, dont worry santa, just give them a wave that will be enough !!!!!!! Bad i know
gets ready for the abuse !!! "
The joke seemed bad enough, but some people's defence of it on the grounds of "humour" seemed even worse.
Is it me????
Very distasteful.
People will always do that; as someone has said, it's a way of dealing with it. You can't get rid of everyone who says something you find distasteful though, you just have to ignore them. If enough people do that, they stop.

Ok so where do we draw the line then?
Holocaust?
9/11?
Does time dim the memory?
Are gas chamber gags funny 60 years later?

Its not a question of the right environment.
A small minority "didn't mind listening" to vast majority ignored they had spoken out......
Same thing applies today,it's time to say "that's wrong"wherever this shit is spouted.

LB, if people find something distasteful or sick in the chatroom, they DO tell the person that said it. People have been booted for some things they've said that were distasteful/sick

LB, people spouting lame jokes about a tragedy they are not equipped to deal thinking about, is very different to Hitler`s build up to the Holocaust. I don`t like shit jokes spouted in front of me, and neither do you, or many others. People who find they need to do this should take this on board.

Ok sorry about the rant.
Just something I feel very strongly about.
Glad this forum's here so's to get it of my chest.

Yes after every tragedy sick jokes start doing the rounds but it still doesn't make them acceptable or funny. Imagine of one of your loved ones was involved in a terrible tragedy such as the tsunami then you heard someone in the pub laughing at a joke about it. Nope, my sense of humour may be a little dry at times but I don't laugh at others misfortune.
Probably not the most appropriate place to admit you found it funny either at the mo Sarge
Hope you have your bunker ready!

Humour is a personal opinion. Why should we dictate to others what they should think. Sick jokes have been around from day one..........how many laugh at You've Been Framed?
It is still laughing at other peoples expense. Some are more sick than others, but most humour is always at the expense of others.
I agree with the people who said if it is not funny to you.......then don't laugh and walk away. That will tell them what you thought of their humour and they may not say things like that to you again.
But don't tell people what they should find funny.........as it is one of the last things that the goverment has not regulated on us yet.
