'its as easy as shelling peas' you've all heard the saying about childbirth being as easy as shelling peas, well im actually shelling peas as i type here and all i can say is i take my hat off to anyone that has given birth because if its as boring as shelling peas you women are actually quite special.. my fingers are going numb to..do fingers go numb when you give birth? is it really that bad??
staggy (shelling peas)
well if you hadn't blown all your money onnphone calls, flirting with the BT ladies, you could have bought a tin of peas instead biggrin
Grey peas are Black Country, tinned peas are conveinient wink
I've never had grey peas.
i've had loads of gray pays though.

I bet you've scoffed some fagguts'n'pays too (the non yamyams will be a little confused now :hahasmile
i was bought up in Coseley, black country mum from Coseley, Wolverhampton, ie non Black country, father, we never had gray pays ( grey peas ) either with faggots or bacon.. well not until we went to a black country night one night, prefer brains faggots and chips to be honest to traditional faggots and grey peas.. i think this dish may once have been a black country favorite but these days chicken tika masala has probably taken over lol
anyway getting back on topic, does giving birth make your finger nails go green too?
im failing to see the connection between shelling peas and giving birth to the point that if it was so similar then not only would the human race of died out long ago through sheer boredom but we would of died out with cramp and huge compost heaps of empty shells
i so love dahli.

Try adding some cheese to them when theyre done Staggy. Its an old Shropshire recipe - its cheese - its peas- its cheesy peas!
god ffs you have reminded me of my grandad who used to shell every fookin pea on his plate with a knife n fork, took ages to eat anything, stopped giving him them in the end.
he also used to mop his gravy up with cake
aaaah you shouldnt mock old country ways.........you know the saying " he who shuck every pea grows as strong as a tree" or was it buzzes like a bee ? Or summat
Well, you can get numb fingers if the epidural goes wrong. You can get spots in your body where you lose feeling altogether. Sometimes you get the feeling back, sometimes not. The anaesthetists warn you of that.
I don't think you can get green fingers (unless you have a fungal infection already) but you might get blue fingernails (lack of oxygen).
Childbirth is not easy. Mine took 30 hours. If I had a choice, I'd ask them to let me be pregnant forever! The gas was nice, though. When the canister worked...
If you get pregnant, opt for natural childbirth with no anaesthesia. Sure it hurts but you get to enjoy your baby straight away instead of drifting in and out of consciousness.

You (hopefully) get decades to 'enjoy' your kids ... go for as much anaesthesia as you can get!! lol

Totally right. Frankly after giving birth I didn't want to as much as breathe hard let alone have anything to do with anyone's baby - including mine. Thank God he went to the nursery ward cos he was a touch cold - he was fine, it was just a precaution. It was the last decent night's sleep I had in 2 years.
well my minds made up, from now on its mangetout and no child birth ever for me
