The night close in, and we can have fun without being seen. Romantic walks with someone you love or just dogging, night is such a good cover. wink
But what about the poor birds...I heard on BBC1 news that they now have an hour less to sleep...
wink
Agreed. I've always preferred GMT and wish we would have it as our timezone all year round - and not just for any clandestine meets. wink

I never understand this argument, can you not just meet one hour later?? :lol2:
I dont really live by the clock, I only use it when someone else is involved, I never look at the clock and go its 'teatime' or 'bedtime'.
Eat when hungry, sleep when tired, fuck when horny :rascal:

You must have pretty strong circadian rythms dunno When I do not look at the clock, any semblance of routine vanishes to the point of malfunction.

....but do you know that we will have less songbird, as they will not need to fly to Britain when we have the same time as France.
....and that crap too.
Someone is playing to the EU. Every airfield uses GMT all year around. The forces do, and the US armed forces. So why can we not use it.
Even Earth Standard Time is GMT and used in Star Trek. Not sure thats a good argument.

The only time that would be a good argument is if you were speaking at a trekkie convention :lol2:
and even then you would have to come with another argument why being at a trekkie convention was a good idea dunno
My favorite argument for keeping BST (and im not really bothered either way) is the look of confusion on american faces at the greenwich observatory when the clock says 12 but their watch says 1

That explains why I live in a constant state of malfunction I suppose! :silly:
Sooner stay on GMT all year around
I get fed up with the GMT, non-GMT debate.
Point 1: there is not 1 hour more or less for crying out loud. There are still 24 in the day. There are still the same number of daylight hours the day before as the day after. So that is no argument for changing the clocks. For that reason.
Point 2: It is not a problem of it being dark at a certain time. It is a problem of it being dark when you want to carry out a certain activity. There is a solution - do the thing later in the moring or earlier in the evening.
Point 3: Children are endangered walking to school in the dark. WHAT? a) very few children actually walk to school. b) Far fewer than that walk on unlit streets. There are streets round here so brightly lit it's like an orange daylight. c) younger children (junior school) are almost certainly escorted (the tiny percentage that aren't driven) and older children (senior school) should already have been taught proper road sense. d) car drivers should ALWAYS take care where there are pedestrians and more so if they are children.
Point 4: We complain about HSE 'gawn maaad' and then say kids can't be out in the dusk? Potty.
