When people start thinking about their summer holiday biggrin
We were checking out ferry prices the other night.................looks like it's touring Northern France, Germany and Austria for us next year................woohoo!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
So have you planned your holiday yet, and where are you going?
If your going to Germany I can recomend some fantastic but little known places that are just "have to see it" especially on a bike.
PM box is open wink

Not booked a holiday as such but I'm doing a charity trek in Morocco next Oct ( online sponsor forms will be posted at a later date wink )
Got a bike rally in Feb in Anglesey ( I must be mad! )

France again, last 2 weeks of July
We "did" three weeks in France & Germany this summer. It rained. A lot.
As far as Austria goes, if you're on a bike you HAVE to ride the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse- the highest mountain pass in Europe. It's a toll road, and they even have a bikers section on the website
You really, really don't want to miss this- its gobsmackingly spectacular!
This year, we've booked a small greek island break in June, and we're off to the alps again for Chrimbo 2007. All courtesy of the Twat who wrote off my car, although I'd rather have cooked his intestines on a barbie. rolleyes
Didn't have a holiday this year - too busy at work - hence taking most of December off to use up my holidays. I've booked a week off work in June but no idea what to do with it.
I've never had a holiday on my own - always with my family, or my husband & son.
So any ideas what a single swinger can do for a holiday without getting sunburned? (I have very fair skin)
(Feel free to pm me with offers of a week in Barbados etc etc etc. :thrilled: LOL)
We didn't have a holiday this year either foxylady.... Too many motor racing meetings to be able to fit one in :lol2:
Next year we wil be heading north to Doune in June. Obviously incorporating a Hillclimb while we are there :giggle:
We aside from the usual camping in August and September in GT. Yarmouth and somewhere else i wil be taking a bike tour in france with my mates. Thats assuming i pull my finger out in the new year and do my bike test lol

Wow, Winchy!
Just been checking that link out this morning.................we're going! Sorted our hotel out there and everything.................not that we really want to ride the road THAT much!

we tend to book last minute - you can get some good bargains that way lol
Paris in April (wonderfully warm and the trees lush)
Tuscany in the Summer (never been)
Anyone see the BBC program Francesco's Italy .. was fantastic!

Fantastic! You owe me pics though!
Seriously, happy to help- we've driven it twice, and spent the whole time saying how good it would be on a bike. There are always loads of bikers there, but it tends not to be too crowded as its a really long road.
Another tip- take your passports. A short ride from the end of the toll road takes you to the Italian Border, so you can go for lunch/shopping/coffee in the shadow of the Dolomites too!
Oooooh, and if you're as childish as us, a short run from Zell-am-see is Europes longest summer toboggan run, takes about ten mins to get to the top in a chair lift, and 4/5 to get back down- screaming the whole way! (What do you mean I was meant to use the break?)
Im all excited for you now!
Pics you can have Winchy.....................til you're sick of 'em wink
Just booked the ferry......................£42 return Dover to Calais, benefits of riding a bike.
As for the toboggan run......................I'm gonna do it even if Pete wimps out biggrin :D
I'm not planing holidays......
planing field days.........
radio contests...........
servicing towers...............
I hope Dawnie and Bubbly don't see this bolt
I haven't thought about my main holiday yet-that's far too organised ;)
I am planning a trip to Amsterdam in Feb though biggrin
