This is getting ridiculous. Most of the posts that have gone in over the last few days are just people posting one-liners to up their post count and then increasing it still further by congratulating themselves for posting so much complete shit.

Yes I know where you're coming from and understand that but you do get an idea from the subject as to whether it's of interest depending on your mood.
There's a lot of "Hey Look at me" going on at the moment (who am I to talk FFS?). I put my 900 post up in tongue in cheek frame of mind. The statement being made isn't always the obvious one.
I enjoy the mix here in the cafe.

Not often really. Most thread titles don't give much of a clue at all. In the case of this one it wasn't that obvious (or am I just being obtuse? dunno

) People used to try and mark 'milestone' posts such as 500 and 1000 with something... well.... meaningful? It's only recently people have started doing 500 one-liners in a weekend just to say look at me I've done 500 posts. Sorry for blowing my top over it, but it really is getting terribly tedious. confused

My thousand one was a chance for me to windbag a bit and thank a few people - Go and look at it on page 2/3 where-ever its got to and bump it up again someone!
I did do a somewhat misunderstood send up of these threads for my 300th but,hell,my 1000th - I wanted to indulge so I did!It did say SOMETHING though but,heck,this is actually Swinging Heaven and Hell so..if it gives people a lift -it keeps them on the heavenly side!
Ditto the partygoers - they're just high and want to relive a fantastic time - why not?
oops..and 800 - well done JGL!

Windbagging is great, it's the posts that do nothing but acknowledge their own existence that I fail to see the point of. I think it's nice to commemorate things like your 1,000th, but do we really need a daily dose of self-congratulation for every 50 or 100 posts? I even saw someone congratulate blue on her 8,200th rolleyes

and someone getting all excited because they have "nearly beaten" the 1,000 mark, as if it's a contest or something.
