I went to college and got a job straight from college.
Went back to school some years later and gained a degree in Primary Education. I'm now employed as a teacher.

I just meant that most people get a crap first job rather than getting something decent as their first job like you did (i'm assuming it was a good job)

My first job was as a Saturday girl in a Swiss patisserie, when I was at school, I was made up when I got the job as the owner was soo picky over the staff and it was a bit of status symbol amongst my peers to work there (plus when it was quiet we used to just scoff all the choccies!).........as for 'proper jobs' my first job after I left uni was what I'm still doing now.......selling houses (and before the lynch mob come out, no I'm not an Estate Agent!)
