I heard this from a friend this morning and found a couple of articules about it this being one about a scam.
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on (a Premium rate number). It's important that you do not call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on .
I have also read
Each Christmas rumours circulate that an old scam has come back to life.
It concerns conmen trading as PDS Parcel Delivery who leave cards saying you should contact them on to arrange delivery of a (non-existent) package.
This line costs a minute and was registered to crooks hiding behind an accommodation address in Belize, Central America.
The important word here is "was". This scam was shutdown by the watchdog for premium rate phone services in 2005. This phone number is no longer in use. Although rumours of this scam re-surface each Christmas, it is no longer running (at least, not with this number).
So doesn't mean it couldn't have started up again with a different number.
The message is a hoax and should be treated as spam. Check the link below as we all may be getting a lot more as Christmas approaches

I did say it was an old one but these are recent written links so thought best to say something just in case than nothing, I didn't intent to scare anyone, but better to be vigilant as it could have been set up under another number you never know.

No worries about posting on here as far as I am concerned. I just run all these through hoax slayer first to see if it is anything to worry about. There are some current scams that are similar so this one may make people think about anything they get from someone they do not know. Thats why I didn't lock it as people may have some current scams that they can post, but they should run it through hoax slayer to check.
I used to get a list from our audit department on current scams.........and they are sooooo devious, yet understandable why they work

You were lucky that your PC blocked it. The attachment is a nasty little .exe which loads all sorts of rubbish. The strange part is that it would have been sent from DHLs own mail server so it looks like an inside job.
I got one this morning... not sure if it's a hoax or not cause I'm way too lazy to rake through Dave's link! lol
Worth keeping an eye on though cause I rarely look at my receipts.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT
I bought a bunch of stuff, over £150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of £40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the £40 because she couldn't delete it. I told Her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it.. I said NO! Taking the £40 would be a cash advance against my Credit card & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything! The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of £20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective.
Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the £40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed?
Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Milford , Sainsburys last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for £20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK!
My co-worker called Sainsburys who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in the queue.
Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards!
This is NOT limited to Sainsburys; they are one of the largest retailers so they have the most incidents.
I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Sainsburys and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a £20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she cancelled it. We really didn't think anything of it until we read this email.
I wonder how many "seniors" have been, or will be, "stung" by this one????
To make matters worse ...THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!!
BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT........CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!
THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STAND. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE DO JUST THAT. NOW I'LL START!
I had that one earlier this week. The original is American - dollars and Walmart rather than pounds and Sainsburys - it's been altered for the British market lol. Just copy the first couple of lines of those messages into Google and it will usually show a hoaxslayer or Snopes page.
You can't get cashback anyway from a credit card in a shop, can you? Has to be a debit card?

Just to add,as the daughter in law of a keen competition enterer(is that a word)no legitimate competition will ever:
1)Ask for money to claim a prize
2)Use a premier rate line to get you to contact them
3)Not have the contact details of a person you can speak to reguarding the competition.
Basically if it is going to cost you to claim, its a scam.

Can we have 'X-Celebrity not got talent dancing here on ice with bells on' put in this category? They all want you to contact them on a premium rate number to win a prize?
