I caught the Jeremy Kyle show unfortunately this morning. I know I could of used the off button but I cant help it. Holding my hands up I got caught up and watched.
What I'd like to know is why people want to go on the show? It does seem so crazy to me. It seems to me that there is always the 'stooge' placed on the stage for Kyle to start off matey with and then fire off into some holier than thou righteous rage at them. Don't they realise that they are going to get lambasted and made to look like satan incarnate, feeding Kyle's ego to boot! No wonder they're offered counselling help afterwarsd they need it to get over the host, let alone the other shite.
I just can't see why people agree to go on the show, they must know their going to get some stick surely.

People go on these kind of shows for one thing...their 5 minutes of fame pure and simple.
If people are mad enough to put themselves down for this, then they deserve everything they get, in my view!!
god i cant stand this type of program
they're all mad

To make me realise, that no matter how shite I am feeling, one look at that show, and I feel better about myself.
5 mins of fame!
Well I'd go on it.
Purely for the opportunity to get close enough to deck* Jeremy Kyle, mind you.

*Winchwench does not advocate the use of violence towards pompous, supercilious daytime TV hosts.
WHat are you going to talk about if you do go on the show?
The use of rabbits?? Climbing in and out of windows?
:P

Yep that and the fact they get put in a swanky hotel for the night (so I've heard).
Don't know if they get paid or not? I would never and could never air my problems on national TV.
Some attendees don't even bother dressing for the occasion! rolleyes

Oh god yes I would. Sorry I just couldn't leave it without saying though biggrin
I bet he's made up to the nines with fashion and make up stylists etc. Mind you, It wouldn't surprise me if they are expressly asked NOT to dress up! As for that counsellor bloke that comes on, the the 'genius' as Kyle calls him, how does he not have a professional crisi of conscience? Go figure
Wouldn't mind betting sales of "Lonsdale" & "Kappa" go through the roof too.....
On a plus side.
I know someone, her daughter and ex appeared on this show, DNA testing if my memory serves me well.
Anyway, to cut a long story short and without going into too much detail, after the show Social Services were brought in and quite rightly so in my humble opinion and the child was taken into care. The daughter was pregnant at the time and when the child was born, that one was also taken straight into care.
One case where J. Kyle Show actually did something right!
they get a taxi to the hotel location, a posh hotel and free drink and food, then their 5 mins of fame.
they lead this life sponging off the state and do not see whats wrong , they are the "the world owes me a living" type so feel no shame as they feel none.
same as the people who sell their stories to take a breck etc.
sad but a true reflection of why our communities and society is soo f**ked up right now.

I think "that" is the correct answer.... I think the words used in my office to describe the programme is chav-tastic, he was a pompous arrogent person on the radio and he hasn't changed on tv....
mind you... if you haven't played the jeremy kyle drinking game, it is a corker... lol

i always think they are made up stories and the 'public' are actors because i just can't imagine what kind of people really would go on TV and air all their most private problems in public confused
They just crap TV shows made to fill day time telly slots that noone really watch.

Oh they are real people I can vouch for that :?
From what I know, the kind of people are usually quite inadequate. Shame that some cant get the help they need without resorting to washing their dirty laundry in public. Others are just after their 15 mins of fame.
Personally, I dont agree with these shows, there isnt IMO, any entertainment value whatsoever.

HAHA thats why i watch it on occasion also. But seriously, they get expenses and a night in a hotel. What swamp goblin mutant chav isn't going to want a night in a decent hotel, free food, drink allowance and a bit of fame in with the process........?
Actually where do I sign? lol
As for J Kyle he is a complete egotist and I'm shocked that he hasn't been battered to within an inch of his self absorbed life on the show for some of his comments to people.
There was a discussion in the commons recently about the show and they likened it to "bear baiting" which is a fair summary.
Compulsive viewing though at times it's like a car accident, you don't want to look but something compels you to!
can`t even bear to look at the"contestants" with their black, gappy, stumpy the young ones mustn`t own a toothbrush
